The Fort York is praised for its attention to detail in the rooms, quality furnishings, and great location in the city center. Guests enjoyed the convenience of nearby bars and restaurants. Despite b (Read More)eing above a nightclub, the rooms were comfortable with a wet room and even ear plugs provided. Some guests noted the lack of a kettle in the room but appreciated the well-stocked communal area. The building, a former hostel, is still undergoing renovations with steep stairs but offers stylish and spacious rooms.

Excellent location in the heart of the city centre, very clean, warm, fairly organised.

Not an actual hotel, unstaffed self check-in rooms. Bathroom is too small, especially the sink. Earlier than average check out time. No lift.

Good

Clean, modern and great central location.

Noisy due to people coming out of pubs/clubs early in the morning. Need earplugs to sleep. These are provided by the accommodation.

Disappointing

Extremely loud music - do not stay here (unless you will be out partying until 02:30 every night)

The room was large, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was decent as well. The location was right in the centre of York.

We stayed in room 6 which was directly above the bar below. The music was extremely loud to the point that the whole room was shaking from the bass. The bar closes at 02:30 AM, sleeping before that point is impossible and even then you have to wait for all the customers to leave. Really disappointing that the 'hotel' (more of a hostel) wouldn't warn people about it, or ideally move location.

Location, comfortable bed

Website incorrect. Daily room service didn't happen over 3 nights and two days. Nowhere to store clothes, towels and belongings, everything went on the floor. No wardrobes as stated on website. Rooms very small and although it's states boutique is black walls and dingy really that!

Great location but tiny, uncomfortable , loud rooms

Lovely Central location, walking distance from train station and Barbican.

Tiny room, uncomfortable beds, pillows lumpy, hair dryer broken, communal kitchen so when you want a cuppa in morning had to get dressed, very loud music from pubs below. Even with the ear plugs supplied by the venue it was still very hard to drown it out. Be aware lots of steps to get to rooms.

Location was amazing. Room was lovely and clean and the water and treats on our arrival were a lovely touch. Loved it and would highly recommend. We will definitely return!

Location was very good. Staff member who showed us around was very pleasant. It had quite a nice communal coffee/break out area. Room was nicely decorated but quite dark, bathroom was a wet room with a very good shower.

The room was extremely small and quite dark. Think we may have been in the smallest one. Noise travelled very well through place so if you have noisy people in (as we had) you can here every word. Lots of stairs, did not bother us but not for everyone.
