Our family has stayed here for many trips in the past with no issue. This year, the visit BEGAN by Vascasa not being transparent about parking prices- in the welcome email, we are told $35 and at the gate we are forced to pay $50 per car. EVERY vacationer we met told us the same thing. A scam.
Once we got to the room, there were no normal cleaning supplies, trash bags, etc. The showers had such poor plumbing that they could not run simultaneously, and when they did turn on, the shower heads screeched awfully with erratic spray. We had 4 towels total for our trip of 5 people (luckily we brought our own) and no extra blankets, with no front desk to ask for any of these supplies. But the MOST infuriating was the new code number activated GATE that they put on the boardwalk to the beach. ALL VISITORS were frustrated because the code was NOT told to anyone in a welcome email, it was just figured out through word of mouth, it only worked about half the time you punched it in, and it is just incredibly frustrating to know that despite wanting to relax carefree on the beach, now I am responsible for memorizing two very long codes (gate and door) if I want to come back inside. Like... we want to leave our phones in the room and have phone free family time, but no one can because we have to remember so many unnecessary codes. Why? No other hotel had this from looking around. Oh, and construction started next door at 7am sharp even on the weekends, so no sleeping in.
