Birthday celebration trip and everyone loved the hotel.

Great facilities and superb customer service experience. Thanks to all the staff.

Unfortunate mix up on room booking names meant my sons 30th birthday was missed until a lady on reception noticed late evening.

True luxury stay

Truly luxury hotel atmosphere. Inpeccable service Good location, 10min walk to city center (uphill on return walk). Ocean view room had all the aneminities one could expect. Excellent breakfast, lots of tables inside and outside. Pool area and the surroundings perfectly maintained. Sun loungers always available

Ocean access through sister hotel Royal Savoy, longish walk. Didn't matter for us, as the sea was red flagged during our visit. Too windy.

Funchal is a lovely city and Madeira is a great destination for hiking

Location was excellent. Great views from Rooftop Pool and Bar. Bedroom was lovely and well appointed

Varying water temperature while having a shower. Breakfast orange juice was not fresh Small black biting flies in one of the restaurants Somewhat dismissive response when these mentioned to staff

Great hotel in Funchal

Very good facilities (the various swimming pool and sun bed areas, amazing gym), incredible breakfast, high level of service (including good turn down service at night). Amazing staff (from front desk to cleaning team). The must: they noted that my partners birthday was during the stay (probably took note of it during check in when we gave our passports) and they left a cake, a bottle of bubbles and a card in the room as a surprise - we were both extremely pleased of this nice gesture.

Not always very quiet as located in central Funchal (can be quite noisy at night if you want to sleep with windows open). Decoration is quite tacky/nouveau riche. You need to pay for car park space and access to the indoor spa facilities.
