Wonderful place to stay and well-located!

For those looking for a more traditional Japanese experience, I would highly recommend Ryokan Kyoraku. We wanted to try accommodation that was more traditional and this ryokan was wonderful. It is very different to the mainstream hotel type accommodation but we found the experience to be wonderful. The accommodation is superbly located near to Kyoto station and a short bus trip (or pleasant walk) up to downtown Kyoto (not near the station). The owners were incredibly helpful and very friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortably setup. They were very attentive making for a special, personable stay. The accommodation facilities were spotless.

I felt the lighting in the room could be improved to enhance the ambience as the difference between "on" (very bright) and "dim" (very dark) was just too great.

Unforgettable stay in a lovely Ryokan. 5 stars out of 5.

Fully furnished ryokan. The staff were impeccable and always trying to help. The location is superb. Very close to Kyoto train station. Highly recommended!!!

Superb

Traditional ryokan super close to Kyoto main station. The staff was very polite. I loved the traditional set up of my tatami room.

That is seems not to be possible to enter the room during their cleaning time from 10-15.

I had a great stay here. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. For those of you that are night owls, there is a curfew at 11 pm, meaning after 11 you cannot leave the ryokan, but you can still go back into the ryokan after 11.
