The room was spacious, very contemporary, and the bed was very comfortable. It was very close to all of the First Night activities on New Year's Eve.

Because it was First Night/New Year's Eve the line to register was very long. However, we pre-registered online and were told we could just get our keys and go to our room. That didn't happen. We still had to wait in line. Our luggage took more than 2 hours to get to our room. We called guest services twice to see where the luggage was. Then my husband went to the lobby to get our luggage himself. I had to take some medicine so we couldn't wait any longer. The bellman stopped him and said only bellman were allowed to use the carts. My husband explained that I needed my medicine. The bellman said he didn't care, it is hotel policy. He radioed his boss and told him he had a rude customer when he was rude and disrespectful, not understanding the need for my meds. Also there was a sliding door right outside of our room which led to a terrace, but the door kept opening and closing all night. It should have been locked. Room 395.

Nicely located hotel in Monterey

Location is central, parking spot connected to the hotel and convenient, nice common areas.

Huge hotel, rooms are a bit outdated and cleaning not up to standards (especially the carpets/furnitures)

Fabulous location. Walking distance to town, and the Wharf . Good food and prices at hotel restaurant.

Had to call twice to get the room cleaned. Even though we called, it wasn't cleaned until the of the day

Superb

Location very convenient, right in the middle of downtown. Lots of restaurants nearby.

The shower had very low water pressure and was difficult to regulate, temperature-wise. The water was so hot coming out of the tap, I burned my hand.

Room not ready at 4PM. Stale food odor permeated room. Sheets also smelled like old oil. Noted strong food smell in elevator lobby area of first floor apparently coming from adjacent restaurant. Attended New Year Eve Party assuming set up was like last year. It was not. Felt we were misled.

Nice appearance on outside. Rooms are too small, too hot, too bright, and dogs are treated better

Location, lobby bar. Thats it.

The pillows were horrible The room was too hot. The ceiling fan was placed all the way over to the end of the room near the window, could not feel it unless on that side. Used to get chocolate chip cookies upon arrival. Now they only give dogs biscuits and handkerchiefs. What? Nothing for the actual paying guests? But dogs get treated better? Ok. No black out shades in rooms. Shutters dont even close all the way, making room too bright too early.
