Great location, a heritage building, friendly and helpful staff and a great breakfast spread.

The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. We had requested the chef to pack a special vegetarian meal for 9 of us (for a long road trip) and he more than obliged, on Christmas Day and did a wonderful job. Super staff!

Location was good.

I would like to rate this hotel higher, but unfortunately I can't. There is a discrepancy between Booking.com and Oude Werf room descriptions. Essentially, Booking.com claims the "superior double" room is 376 sq ft. But the room you actually get is the "cosy" room, which is approx 220 sq ft. Also, Booking.com charges higher than the price of the largest room for the most basic room. So essentially I was massively overcharged for a very small room. Booking.com blames the hotel, the hotel blames Booking.com and neither will resolve the issue. The hotel staff were insipid, patronising, and generally very unhelpful. If you book the bigger rooms, it's probably a much nicer experience. But would recommend you compare to the hotel website before booking. Also, they host events in the restaurant on site. For dinner there were 30 shrieking teenagers running around taking photos for their graduation dinner and at breakfast there was a hen party we were sat next to. The speeches were awkward.

Lovely place, great hotel & tasty breakfast

There was confusion over the booking: Booking.com confirmed the reservation & said payment was due on arrival. The hotel rang me shortly before arrival saying I hadn't paid the deposit (which I didn't know I had to pay!) & I paid it - but if I had missed their call I presume they could have cancelled the reservation
