Exceptional

We were offered a room upgrade on arrival which was nice. We only stayed for one night but the room was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Intimidating staff ruined our stay

Size of the room was good. Air conditioning in room. Breakfast tasty- eggs, toast & fruit (additional cost)

Most of the staff were rude, particularly upon checking out and when discussing our next travel plans. We felt intimidated and pressured into using their overpriced tuktuk service (at one point I felt cornered in the room with them). I would not feel comfortable coming here as a solo traveller. The room felt underprepared for our arrival (even though we were the only guests that day)- we had to ask for a mosquito net and for the water to be turned on at the taps.

Friendly staff, and I had the whole dorm to myself. Beautiful building.

The bicycle I rented was terrible, and falling apart. Very overpriced bicycle hire. No internet in the rooms

Room was too hot, no a/c. Too many mosquitoes inside the room. Not able to sleep properly. Beds are not comfortable.

Helpful and smily staff, always ready to help. The breakfast was very good and not expensive 3$. I had the luck of having the room for myself but if I hadn't wouldn't have been half as comfortable. But, otherwise, for the price, which is very cheap, the hostel is very good

No AC in the room, room poorly cleaned in the corners sometimes... didn't give bedsheets until I asked for them.

Great location, close to the town centre but near the lake so it was quiet - great size of a room, lovely seating areas, wonderful breakfast and a very helpful and friendly staff team

Superb

Very nice stay for one night

It was a very nice experience. Super friendly people, very helpful. Very good breakfast. The host had recommended a good driver for exploring the city and his name is Radga (highly recommended).

One detail, we had to ask for the towels and sheets. Nothing bad ofcourse.

Very helpful staff Lovely breakfast eggs toast fruit coffee Very tidy clean Easy walk to main streets and lake Monkeys and squirrel outside in lane Manager organised a safari on short notice

You have to ask for toilet paper , no toiletries just tiny soap but I think that's normal in SriLanka when they say toiletries. Curtains are disintegrating and the view from our window was not pleasant. Overall this is more between a hotel and homestay(ish) . Very cheap accommodation compared to Australia in anyone terms but small things like fresh towels and toilet paper , water etc replenish daily would make it much more enjoyable stay .
