The location of the property gave us a good launch pad into the city and surrounds, as it's centrally located and offers easy access to the highways. The bedding is of excellent quality and the bedroom was clean.

This property failed to meet expectations for a 5-star guest house. On several mornings when load shedding struck, the generator would only be turned on after I walked to reception to ask for it to be done. The window coverings in guest rooms are not full block-out, and we woke when the sun rose. In addition, our ground floor unit had no privacy covers; when the blinds are open there is no privacy, when the blinds are closed the room is shaded. The wifi is not accessible from the guest rooms, and one could only use it from the shared pool area. The bathroom doesn't offer anywhere to place one's toiletries, and the lone shelf provided seems to be falling out of the wall. There is mould on the ceiling in the bathroom above the shower, as the room is not adequately ventilated. There also isn't a single mirror in the room that is lit well enough for someone to do make-up or hair, and no hair dryer was provided in the room (though it is listed as an amenity). The remote we were given for the security gate didn't work, and we were told to make some very finicky adjustments to it in order to get it to open the gate - which still didn't work. Our remote was only replaced on day 3 of our stay. Breakfast is served from a menu and took almost and hour to be completed. It was very tasty, but takes too long when one has a full day planned. For this reason, we only had breakfast once.

The pictures looked much better than reality

The breakfast was very good, on the days the guesthouse wasn't booked. Then Jonathan prepared specials, like toast with avo, salmon and scrambled eggs i.e., on the other days the breakfast was average, but at least allways hot. Jonathan was an excellent host, going the extra mile to made the stay at least bearable. Without him, we would have checked out after the first night.

Almost everything! We booked the guesthouse in February, a friend recommended the place after his stay in 2016. The room we got was dark, weird shaped. The bedroom had no daylight at all, only one chair, the inbetween room had 3 closets, but all of them were looked, except for one, that was filled with office supplies. The bathroom was small, with two people in it overcrowded. On check in we were "greeted" by a girl, who obvisiously wanted to be out for party, not pampering guests. "this is your room, breakfast til 10, checkout til 10, bye, I'm gone for the evening". One of our towels had a hole in it, our bedsheet was ripped, there was only one bathrobe in the room. The pool area was okay, but the pool allways looked a litte shabby. Jonatha tried to fix some of it, but the overall experience was not at all a 5*, not even 3* - I cannot recommend this place for a good stay in pretoria. Probably they are going to change that for better, but right now it wasn't worth the stay.

Location is beautiful and quiet, but their standards are falling. This time was not like in my previous experiences

No one is assigned to attend to emergencies. No one is available to answer the phone numbers provided. if your plane arrives late, no one is assigned to receive this information and make the necessary arrangements for the incoming guest. The situation is such that one cannot check in, even if payment is made. You simply have to find another hotel like it happened to me. The Bohemian does not have a person assigned to attend to emergencies that may occur during the night, not even a number to call. One cannot simply get the guest house's help. In the room, the welcome drink, the way it is presented does not give assurance to clients whether or not are left overs of the previous client or not. Their breakfast is incredibly rationed and offers a little choice. For instance, they offer no pastries. The facility is beautiful but the service is bad.

Was ok , not really worth the price

The spar treatment was amazing, capable staff, knows what they are doing. The breakfast was also beautiful as their fruit salad

That there is no staff after 6 pm Swiming area is closed after 6 and tv was not working WiFi was not working in the bedrooms . Couldnt call for help because they all went home

The walls are very thin, could hear the people next door. The dstv did not work all power cables were removed. The wifi had very bad signal so made it difficult to do work.

Clean and neat

Shower too small Shower leaked No fresh milk in bar fridge ( considering its a 5 star) Toast isnt served with a full English breakfast and when you politely asked where the toast is, you are told you need to ask for it . Again, this is not something a 5 star would miss . Construction taking place in front entrance of property - quite an eye sore .atleast just inform your guests prior. Arrived on a very hot day, opened the mini bar fridge to only two waters inside which is acceptable considering however the mini bar fridge has a menu with prices but no stock inside . We then asked the next day at breakfast if they could please put our preferred cool drinks in the fridge so that when we arrive back later they would be there however upon arriving back later that day, we opened the fridge again to only water . We went to the honesty bar to collect cool drinks, with not much of a selection. I feel the small things are missing at this guest house , the things that surely a 5 star establishment would provide as we have stayed in many 5 star hotels and guest houses . As clean and comfortable as it was, unfortunately I dont think we will be back. It definitely missed many personal touches .
