The Mayaguez Resort & Casino had a firm's convention where they had a great time with friendly staff that aims to make guests happy. The food is reasonably priced and delicious, with nice portions. T (Read More)he hotel is underrated with a lot of potential and a desire to return. The check-in process was made easy by Xiomara and the bartender, Joan, was exceptional. The location is accessible and there are excellent amenities including a restaurant, bar, casino, and swimming pool. The hotel was clean and beautiful, with the only suggestion being more information on pool amenities. However, one reviewer was not impressed with the casino, citing a lack of slots and payouts. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, but the tobogganing was good. The pools were perceived as dirty and the food was basic, with a suggestion to order a la carte for breakfast.

Liked the outside pools

Ice machine did not work in any floor. The pool closes too early when checkin is at 3:00pm. Th key fob is old fashion to unlock the room door an upgrade would be great.

Lovely view of the swimming pool area from our room. Facilities are clean...

The room have a strange odor... maybe from the room rug. No clothes iron on the room. No restaurant menu at the room.

It has a nice pool.

The rooms I stayed have dark hallways and humidity smell . They were very small rooms.

Would not recommend if you plan on arriving at the specified check in for everything closes early.

Room was clean and okay for the price. Stayed at the newer renovated tower.

Pool closes early, if you check in at 3:00pm the river pool says its open until 6:00pm however they start kicking you out at 5:15pm and close at 5:30pm. Note: they charge $6.00 per tube and you basically can only use it if you check in at the designated time. Not worth it. River pool was smaller than what I imagined and there was only one lifeguard on duty and they were sitting facing the water slide and not the River pool. The restaurant Castillo says they close at 11:00pm but in actuality the kitchen closes at 9:00pm. It was very disappointing for we got to the Castillo Restaurant at 8:30 and by 9:30 when we were going to order dessert, the waitress brought us the check without asking if we wanted dessert for the kitchen closed at 9:00pm. We had to talk to the manager and she said we could only get custard for it was already made. The gym had one 8lb dumbbell and a treadmill. Nothing else. Very poor customer service. Short staffed and they dont seem to want to work.

only liked the pool.

the toilet is dirty. After having cleaned the bathroom on the first day, on the second day the signs were placed to be able to rest and the cleaning lady opened the door to the room anyway

I like that the hotel was almost empty We like the pools/water park. We liked the service/staff.

I didn't like that the bathroom was not well maintained. Toilet needs to be changed. Towels were kinda brown color(they were clean tho) The mattress was uncomfortable, really used/old. One of the keys didn't work. I went to the front desk, they said it was fixed, didn't work anyways...but I didn't want to go back so we stayed with one working. I didn't like that breakfast was not included. The food in the restaurant El.Castillo was really good but the pork was not well cooked. Mofongo was good.but I got stomach ache after eating. (Maybe is me, but it happened after eating there) Didn't like that we couldn't even pass water to the water park.
