Disappointing

The Shining! not worth the money

This will be probably the only real and true review you may read about this place (except for a detailed one posted on google by a guy 8 months ago that unfortunately I just saw after being to the place). The whole place looks from outside an abandoned hotel direct from the movie The Shining!!!! All windows are kept shut, probably because the renovation was done on the cheap and they are hard to open and close. There is nothing to do around it. i was lead to believe it was in the middle of park for hiking - its not. My fault probably so be aware. The only facilities are a big dining area and a jacuzzi outdoors. No comfortable garden furniture available to relax and enjoy the view. The bedroom was clean and renovated nicely so i spent most of the time there. The staff was helpful to my request of reducing my two night reservation for only one. Internet was really good and staff kind.

It should qualify as a 3 start hotel and the price is outrageous! as a comparison, the night before i was at The Raffles in Phnom Phen for a few just below the $400 paid here which made me really mad because nothing justifies such a high rate for The Le Bokor. Maybe they charge it because the other assistemtico on top of the mountain is even worse. My suggestion: dont bother!!!! The view is nice but stay somewhere else in Kampot.

Exceptional

Heavenly stay amidst clouds, with the best location on Bokor Mountain with excellent 360 degree view

Staff was extremely courteous and responsive, reception manager during checkin was really nice, was fluent in English, he advised us to cycle around, arranged the cycles, advised on where all we can have the excellent sunset views, Staff in the restaurant were also so so courteous , they were ever present but not in one's face - they literally made us feel like a king and a queen in the palace :). Location is out of the world with the 360 degree views of the sun, sea and the lands below. Room was just like what a king might have, with the huge and comfy beds, excellent bathroom, extra high ceilings, amazing lights and couches to sit in the balcony area to see the view outside if one does not want to go outside.

Not many options in the food, but it is understandable due to extremely low occupancy - we were literally the only people in the hotel on that day - Hence one should maybe have lunch and dinner at nearby Sokha resort - This should definitely get better once more people start coming to Bokor mountain.

Superb

Wonderful place

This is a great hotel. Beautiful views. Food was great. Chhay the man at the desk was wonderful. When Covid has ended I highly recommend staying there. The air is very cool.
