Great location, standard beach holiday accomodation

The location was excellent, right across the road from Lake Taupo. The bathroom was very serviceable and had a bathtub, which was great, and an excellent exhaust fan. The out-of-hours door was close to my room, which was convenient for entry to the building.

My room was "lakeview" but on the side of the building, so the lake was only viewable when right up against the window. It was quite warm weather and the room did not have air conditioning, only a small desk fan. The window did not have fly screens and opened a long way when open, there was also no sheer curtain, so people on the street would have been able to see me through the open window. I was not sure about the cleanliness of the kettle in my room. There are a lot of stairs in this building, there is one lift, but it was hard to find and very far from my room.

Disappointing

Very average. No frills or comfort provided and not worth the $265/night !

This was not value for money. There was no view whatsoever. The very small bedroom looked out into the wooden wall of the next unit. The room was small and dark, literally just a bed and a shower and toilet. One chair and one small table.Not even a coffee plunger ! Very basic!!

Cramped room.

Good places to sit. Staff were friendly. Lovely location.

Very cramped room with a small bed for two. The window looked out on a fence a meter away with a large water pipe. Light was almost completely blocked out. Not functional, for instance, only one tiny shelf in the bathroom. No room for our toiletries. Nowhere to make a cup of tea in the room, again no shelves (but no space for shelves anyway!). Housekeepers were swearing and complaining about their own team outside our room. Very inappropriate.

Great location but will never stay again. Room was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Good location and staff were friendly.

Room not clean. Bed very uncomfortable. Room was very noisy, literally can hear everything from the people walking around in the room above us to people talking in the corridors.

The room didn't look like the pictures provided in booking.com. In one of the rooms, we got a sofa bed instead of a bunk bed. My family was quite upset. I had to move my dad to another hotel.

Premium price for poor quality.

The location.

Room is too small. No where to put suitcase. Not easy to pass your partner in the room it was that small. Cups and cutlery were filthy. Shower only had a curtian, so water would get all over the bathroom floor. Timber building so you can hear everyone walking around. No air-conditioning in room 101. No privacy in room 101 unless you pull the blind but if you pull the blind you get no fresh air. And every time the wind blows it makes the blind clunk on the window trimming, waking you up. Not enough parking if the Lodge is fully booked. No refund to cancel room, we left a day early regardless. Bed is tiered and needs replacing. Bathroom sink is small and can't fill a water bottle.

Passable

The location is quite central the property is close to town centre and markets. It is also close by to a EV charging station so very handy. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. Its a good option if you plan to have a busy and active outdoors through the day and need a place to crash but not ideal for a relaxing family or solo travel.

The rooms are very dingy. It has no proper ventilation or sound proofing. The windows open to a mud wall making it even more difficult when you are struck in a small place. There is not sufficient parking as we had to get off street parking on all the days.
