Location could not better. Interesting hotel built into an old Bank. Basement bedrooms built into old bank vaults.

There is no headboard on the bed so you cant sit up and watch tv. The toilet is open to the room! Even though we have been married for years I wouldn't expose my wife to that!! And also...you can clearly hear the people in the next room,..every word....and more!! I know they enjoyed their stay,... very much!!

Superb

A fabulous and relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel.

The property was in a perfect, central location ,very accommodating staff and an extremely comfy bed.

To find fault I would need to be picky. The room was a little dark, however, we understand that this was the aesthetic of the hotel and it did not impact how much we enjoyed our stay in the slightest.

The room

Staff could of been more helpful after being woken up at 3am due to a domestic in next room where a husband was beating his partner which the police should of been called for a welfare check . Explained on leaving hotel all I got was a sorry .. considering I paid 140 for the room to only have 3 hrs sleep is appalling not even anything as a good will gesture !!

Excellent location in the heart of York

Location is excellent. Powerful shower and comfy bed. Quirky room. Fancy soaps.

Very small room and bathroom but wasn't a major issue. Check in time is 4pm but thankfully we were permitted to check in a little earlier.

Lovely hotel for an experience but not a good sleep

The hotel is so quirky and feels really luxury.

We were placed in a basement room which we were warned that could be noisy due to being below the bar/ street ect but we found the real noise issue was that the walls were so thin, you could hear every word of Nextdoors conversation. It felt intrusive and nextdoor werent being loud - it was just a normal level convo.
