A small, family-run boutique hotel with great service and beautiful views.

Great service -- thank you, Giovanni! Private balcony with beautiful views. Delicious and filling breakfasts. Spacious and very clean rooms. Unique and beautiful outdoor breakfast patio. Spacious in-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower.

Giavanni treated us like family and everything was amazing.

Everything about our stay here exceeded our expectations. The room had a private balcony that overlooked the Meddederanean Sea. The breakfast patio overlooked the Meddederanean Sea. The proprietor, Giavonni, treated us like family. he drove us into town and picked us up three times. The breakfast as amazing; fresh fruit, fresh bread, eggs any way we wanted and sweet pastry to finish. Over the top customer service.

Peaceful location

The breakfast was excellent. Their scrambled eggs are so tasty. Really enjoyed the fresh fruits. The view from the room and rooftop was beautiful. We loved the quiet location away from town. The walk from town is manageable, however, calling for a shuttle was never a problem.

Great place to stay if youre visiting positano

We loved Giovani! Very friendly and he drove us into town every day and picked us up from town every evening. Gave us great recs, made us a great breakfast every morning, and overall very helpful. Plus the room was very nice and had a beautiful ocean view/patio.

Giovanni is the highlight of this property - he is absolutely lovely, very helpful and accommodating. The shuttle service he provides is helpful in getting to town. His food recommendations were also great. The complimentary breakfast is on a patio with a beautiful view!

From the time we arrived at Al Barilotto, we felt like we were staying with family. Giovanni et al. were amazing hosts--so warm and friendly. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a lovely private terrace and amazing view of the Mediterranean. We were a little out of the way from downtown Positano so it was quieter. But Giovanni provides shuttle service a few times per day to downtown. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Their gardens extend to the arbored terrace where breakfast is served, with stunning views of the water, and all the special touches with the lovely ceramic place settings. In addition to any egg dish you could think of ordering, every morning we had beautiful fruits from the garden, yogurts, a platter of charcuterie and delicious cheeses, home made breads, and each day there was a special baked tart or cake... and the caffe was the best in all of Italy. Seriously. It was just perfect!

I wish we had a better idea of how far we were from downtown Positano so we could have planned differently. But, it wan't a game-changer. I would stay here for our next trip most definitely.

Stay here!

This property is paradise. The grounds are exceptionally stunning. The breakfast room, the rooftop stone shower, the flower vines- all of it. The family that runs the property are extremely nice, accommodating and always smiling. The balaconies have the perfect view of the water. Everything is very clean.

We loved everything. If I were to be extremely picky- the bedspreads are a bit older and could use updated pillows. But honestly that is just being picky.

Wonderful hospitality in a family-run jewel of a hotel in beautiful Positano

It is so characterful and as it is a little outside of Positano it is all less hectic. We loved Giovanni and his sister Rachele, who work so hard and make your stay exceptional.

It is on a busy road that just takes a bit of getting used to. But it doesnt keep you awake at night.
