Hospitality vs Revenue

Bad experience. Wrong type of room. Rude staff.

Unfortunately nothing was like expected. We booked a room online after check all the pictures of this type of room. When we arrived at the hotel unfortunately, they offered us something totally different. This lower category room was not what we paid for and their answer was it is a last minute booking , this is what we have available. Obviously they overbook the type or rooms they have to fill the one night gaps in their Rooming plan and give you something different. Although the worst thing was not the above ( because ok mistakes or bad reservation techniques could happen), the worst thing was their staffs attitude. I had never faced such a snob , sarcastic and rude attitude in my travels around the world. The Front Desk supervisor was angry with us because we were asking for what we paid for , he was laughing and didnt even give us a chance to listen our problem and disappointment and maybe suggest a solution to make our stay a bit better. Unacceptable and unprofessional way to treat a hotel guest. He only cared to charge our card and then kick us out and he looked so annoyed when I compared and contrast the Booking.com photos with the real photos of the room and we both understood that I am right. When we asked to talk to a reservation manager or a hotel manager or a supervisor the answer was that nobody is there , everyone is sick or days off even the next days. In a nice city like Amsterdam , with so many nice hotels, and so friendly and kind people it is so pity to be the bad exception like this small property ( It is not a 4* hotel obviously as wrong advertised). Their answer below probably will be that they didnt have availability for other rooms and that they tried to explain and help us. This is definitely a big lie because they did had other room available after we checked in and of course they never helped us. They told us that if we write online what happened they will dispute our words.

Short overnight stay in AMS

The location was close to many bars, restaurants and shopping.

The taxi was not able to drop us off right at the hotel, so we had to walk in the rain to pick up our taxi in the morning.

Great hotel in the central area, on-site restaurant is excellent.

Amazing location, right in the heart of Amsterdam but very little street noise like some parts. The Lobby restaurant is excellent, small menu but very good food - was busy every day. Rooms are a good size and excellent showers :)

Its a little expensive but thats Amsterdam for you.

Comfortable but fun stay in Amsterdam. It has everything!

Room was spacious with unlimited coffee, teas shampoos and moisturiser. Lovely robe and slippers. Hotel restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food and drink was unbelievable
