Amazing

The staff was incredible. They accommodated me and my sister last minute. Its a good hotel to experience the caves and a beautiful view. And breakfast staff was great in particular the cleaning lady.

All I can say is the wifi was good in my room and harder in others but you can fault the hotel really cause a lot of caves are that way- its just the way matera goes

Oh this place! I've read a couple of mixed reviews about it and was a bit unsure what to expect but to me this hotel was one of the best stays of my life. According to the staff, we were originally booked for a cave room but this was easily changed when we asked to switch for a one with a view (we stayed end of December, off season but still). The room was not large but perfectly enough and spotlessly clean. Sure the furniture was not the newest, but together with high wooden ceilings, double windows with a view of Matera and a shower build in a wall, it just added to the charm. Excellent breakfast. Warm AC. Overall, an amazing stay. Thanks Hotel Sassy team!

Amazing cave adventure with Family

Scenery is simply INCREDIBLE!!! Staying in a cave was most memorable. The hotel staff recommended a pizzeria nearby that was also amazing. This was an experience I will never forget. Excellent, excellent, excellent.

We reserved two rooms, 510 and 512. 510 had a shower and soaker tub. It smelled nice, too. 512 only had a shower, and the room had a strong mildew smell. But, the rooms were nice (despite the odor in one room), clean linens, and spacious areas.

Beautiful good night and wake up!

Great position within the historic center. Great view and authentic neighbourhood. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Difficult to reach with heavy luggage, but if you search something to reach more comfortable by car you should not search for something in the middle of an historical place. I suggest light luggage. Pictures are not very accurate since rooms are all different. Just be open and enjoy!

DIRTY AND FULL OF MOLD

The location

Except for the location and the view from OUTSIDE (most rooms have NO WINDOW, so the view us useless) The room was SUPER DIRTY and FULL OF MOLD!! The whole night during our stay we coughed all night !!! We asked for an invoice at the end of our stay, and the woman at the reception kept looking for reasons not to make it. This was the most horrible and dirty room we ever staid in in our trip in Puglia!! Careful at the description!! The say all rooms are FACING the Cathedral (opaque doors, no windows) , not that they have view of the Cathedral (no Windows) To understand the rooms: the doors in the photo , are the hotel rooms positioned UNDER THE STAIRS

Superb

impressive , enjoyable and unforgetable staying

As my second time checked in this great hotel, it is surely the most fantasitc hotel during this trip. Stunning view of the outline of the city, very enjoyable breakfast, we took a lots of good photos

The porter not carry our baggages but just dragging on the rough stone paving road, we paid them to carry our luggages otherwise we can do it by ourselves

what a view, what a breafkast. absolutelly breath taking.

you dont expect a modern room. Its accomodation in the rock. very very small bathroom receptionist didnt speak English well but we agreed. we came from ostuni by about 10 busses and trains.
