Fantastic family owned and run hotel in Swiss traditional style - superb

This hotel is a family owned and work family staffed classical Swiss hotel. It has a limited number of rooms - about 25 (?). It is a few minutes walk to a ski shop with a discount for hotel guests with equally excellent expert equipment and service. Minutes walk from the ski lift. Our room was renovated, clean and cosy on the 4th floor with a slanted ceiling and a balcony giving us a DIRECT and spectacular view of the Matterhorn - see photos. The breakfast and dinners in the restaurant are delicious and attended by friendly and homey professional staff. Ski room had boot warming racks for everyone, spa area (indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi) was very relaxing, clean and neat. They had all the personal touches added, including a complementary 4 minute electric taxi ride to the station with a little bag of Zermatt-made cheese and sparkling water bottles for the just under 4h train ride back to Geneva airport - spectacular views on the way. We absolutely loved it.

Perfect Zermatt experience!

The amazing view of the Matterhorn outside our extra large balcony. Hotel facility was also great! The swimming pool was super clean, gym though small was enough for a day or 2 to catch up on workout. The steam and sauna were also super clean and efficient. The rooms were decent size and beds comfortable. The armoire was helpful to store luggage and get a little organized. Breakfast was also lovely. The staff were amazing! I love this place and highly recommend to anyone coming to Zermatt and wanting a perfect experience!

Going up from the street to reach the reception may not be very safe for older people or younger children. For some reason it was inconvenient to reach the outdoor dining table. Wasnt sure if the staff didnt want u to go outside or something but the doors were locked and hard to open. The shower area is typical of old euro style with swinging cover and can allow water to spill on the floor.

Beautiful spa with a friendly staff in an ideal location with madhatter Mountain Views.

The staff was very helpful on our planning our visit. The facility is modern. The location is great. The view!!!! Our room faced madhatter mountain top. Our breakfast faced it too and so did the spa.

A great base for exploring the beautiful alpine region around Zermatt.

Good location which is reasonably close to the railway station, shops and restaurants. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff in reception and the restaurant. Very good breakfast included in the rate.

The entry to the reception is not very accessible.

Best hotel for our Switzerland trip

Great room, great view, delicious breakfast. Option to order additional breakfast like bacon and omelette, although it's a bit oily. Free access to swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna with Matterhorn view. Free porter to pick us up to and from Zermatt Bahnhof upon checkin and checkout. Bathroom has body lotion and heating rack.

No daily mineral water provided compared to other hotels we have stayed in, but we can still drink from tap water. They are chargeable at CHF 2 from receptionist, or can be bought cheaper at groceries stores nearby.
