Its on the beach, the views of the sea, the gardens, the swimming pool, the photograph exhibition, the water shuttle to Venice.
It was the last week of the season the underground beach access was closed and the beach access from the front steps were closed. We had fabulous weather during our visit and we wanted to swim, but we had to walk 10 minutes down the road to get access to the beach.

The 5 star days are over
The room, gym, pool and beach are very nice.
We arrived for our honeymoon to which not even a word of congratulation was muttered, very strange. For a 5 star hotel there were really many small things that were not ok. The staff was not particularly nice. Our cushions in bed smelled bad, the bathrobes smelled very strongly of another persons perfume (after a call they were replaced but it was still shocking to begin with!). Cotton pads were not replaced, there was still an old coffee capsule in the machine from the guest before. Only 2 out of 4 nights was a turn down service done. I really expected much more from this once so glamorous institution and was thoroughly disappointed.

A very nice hotel spoilt by indifferent service in two key areas.
The hotel is beautiful. The location is great. It is old but has been maintained to a very high standard. Our rooms were very nice indeed if a little old fashioned. The shuttle boat to and from Venice is excellent. The check in and concierge service is also very good. The food served in the restaurant is of good quality.
The plumbing in the rooms means that the shower temp is not constant. The main issue is the organisation of the staff in the terrace restaurant/ bar/snack bar area. They are nice and friendly but very poorly organised. Everything takes too long and you have to sit and wait to get any sort of service. The attendants at the pool area are more interested in playing on their phones than looking after the guests. When you arrive its like you are inconveniencing them. No smile, no willingness, very poor. Not what you would expect from this quality of hotel.

Very comfortable hotel, excellent helpful staff. Brilliant service. Fantastic breakfast.
The shore could work a little better. It tended to go hot and cold whilst showering, and it was difficult to control the temperature.

Venetian character, lovely room with luxe sheets, out of Venice main craziness so peaceful, swimming pool, shuttle to San Marco square, helpful English-speaking staff.
Expensive however a good value compared to other 5* Venetian hotels.

Exceptional hotel with smell of "golden ages".
High quality service, excellent food, great staff! Boat service to San Marco square was exceptional.
Gazebo at the beach were a bit overpriced.
