While the rooms are comfortable,

Our stay at this hotel was an incredibly poor and distressing experience. During the check-out process, the staff insisted that the bathroom floor was not dry, demanding a payment of 30 euros under the threat of involving the police. Despite our attempts to reason with the owner, she insisted on the payment according to their contract, warning us of a 100 euro charge if we refused. It was perplexing to be charged for a wet bathroom floor, especially considering our extensive travel history spanning over 25 countries. This unfortunate incident has led me to strongly discourage anyone from choosing this hotel. Given the exceptionally negative experience, I rate this supposedly "historic" hotel a 0/10

The location was just beautiful. We loved the sound of the rushing river, and enjoyed checking out the quaint church next door with its old cemetery behind. There was easy, direct access to a hiking trail behind the guest house, and it was an easy walk from the Wilderswil train, and a comfortable stroll to the two restaurants we visited on our stay. The room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated (in keeping with the retro feel!).

Perfect Location and Affordable Stay

The hotel owner was very courteous and friendly. The breakfast was great and she made an effort to fill up the items during the breakfast always. The room was nice, the hot water and pressure were perfect and everything in the room worked very well.

We booked the room Church View for 3 nights and it was not just the view but the church bells rang every hour and two even at night. Earlier we thought it was every hour but no it was more often than that.
