People living there very not friendly. Living room, the only bright place of the house use by the staff living there and we are not welcoming. 9pm, a man talk to us like we are child, rude and not sympatic, we cannot play a board game its un respectful for the guest sleeping. Really !? It was not 10 pm. The men was a friend of Jacqueline always sitting on the private living room. Kids running around backpackers ?! Nothing at all ! Family with kids, please dont go there. Our kids are always sleeping at 9pm. We were two quiet families, use to travel and respectful. We were in a lot of backpackers place. We talk with others guests and they feel the same, it's not a cool place to stay.

Great value for money

Beautiful house, squeaky clean, well equipped kitchen with all utensils (bring your own oil, sugar, etc), spacious dorm rooms and good showers, just a short walk to the beach. This is much more a guesthouse than a hostel - even has a small pool in the back garden.

There was nothing to like.

When my family and I got there, we rang the bell. A white lady came out and asked us if we had a booking. I replied yes, and she closed the door in front of us again, leaving us in the wind. After checking, she opened. My mother then needed the toilet. There was one close by the entrance when my mother wanted to use it she refused my mother and let her use the one upstairs. Also, on booking.com, the check-in time was 12h00, and our room wasn't ready. So we had to wait in town after a long drive until 13h30. In the email stated that we would be sharing 2 rooms. When we got there, we had to share one big room with a Japanese lady, which wasn't clarified in the email sent to me. We then left and returned home. We felt very unwelcome, and our day out was spoiled. I hope the other guests get better treatment.

Superb

The separate family unit round the back made this Backpacker's seem like a boutique hotel. Highly recommended if you are a family travelling & good value. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
