Great value for money, would recommend,.

Beautiful setting and location, the room was very good. Breakfast was also great and the staff were very helpful.

The double bed was two singles pushed together. Not great when you like to sleep close to each other.

Always enjoy our stay, lovely location, excellent breakfast, staff very friendly, rooms really cofy.

Door to Summer House 4 needs attention as very difficult to open and shut. One bedside lamp didn't work, plus was found on the floor, had to move the bed to get it out and plugged in.

Wonderful place to stay, but unfortunately not without issues.

Loved: - The location. It's absolutely beautiful, green, lush, quiet, and thoroughly lovely. - The staff. Helpful, friendly, and a delight to talk to. - The food. We had dinner at the Beau restaurant, and the Stilton tagliatelle was an absolute winner.

Didn't like: - Arrived to our accommodation to find an ashtray full of cigarettes floating in rainwater. Yuck. - TV remote was rattling and duct-taped together. - The shower didn't work (but the bath, fortunately, did). - There was a tear in the seam of the duvet cover. - The adjoining chalet wall, through which it was possible to hear the loud, rumbling snoring of the neighbouring guests.

Which room you get directly impacts your experience

Front desk clerk was very helpful and promptly addressed concerns. The property is a unique experience.

The experience is very room specific. I had to switch rooms because one was extremely hot without any way to control the temperature. The next offered room was very cold and noisy, which I was willing to take. I was only there for one night and simply needed a good rest; but the clerk decided the options I had weren't good enough and offered a stay in a room above the class I'd reserved. My friend had nothing but good things to say about their room/experience, so I assume I just had bad luck. The property could use lots of maintenance; sure it's an old building, but I'm speaking of things like peeling paint/wallpaper, loose handles, mildew. Also, I'd highly recommend they improve wayfinding. It's really easy to get turned around in the main building; part of the charm, but could be a problem in an emergency.
