Good

The room was compact but very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the stainless steel shower tray was really hygienic. The location is ideal, being a short walk from the train station and Union Square.

Not terrible, but I found the breakfast to be only OK. It could have been better. I felt that the quality of the sausages and black pudding weren't that great, but they were well cooked and there was plenty of food on the plate.

Superb

Loved my wee break

Even in their new circumstances the hotel could not have been more helpful and considerate to our needs. Staff are brilliant Well done Elaine and your staff. We'll be back.

Great Location & Staff were great.

The location was brilliant. I had a hospital appointment which was very easy to get to as the bus stop was a quick walk down the road. Lots of Shops & large shopping malls. Transport was easy & regular.

The doors did not close slowly as the hinges just let the doors bang as the shut. That was annoying. People do not think of others when they are coming in & out.

Disappointing

The light bulbs didn't work, there were mould stains on the ceiling and the only window overlooked a pond with standing water.

Disappointing

Bed was comfy, for all the sleep we got. I used to love staying in the Carmalite, but I would not book again after this

The location

The door was locked, no staff about, guests actually let us in. The place looked closed, or no longer in operation. No bar, no restaurant nothing. Self check in - with no key card - no explanation nothing. No prior notice of any of this, including that the hotel was pretty much full of residents living in, celebrating a religious festival which was why the bar and restaurant was closed as the kitchen prepares the food for those guests. Once we got up to our room It was Noisy, children riding scooters up and down the corridors, chatting parents, doors slamming all evening and the next morning. Our room was ok, compact however all we needed. We were woken early again by the sounds of children slamming doors, shouting and what not, so not really an ideal place to get some sleep.

pleasant enough, will likely stay again due to the great location.

location is great. Bath/bathroom was amazing and the room spacious. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

As we have stayed before lockdown it was disappointing that the bar was not open, as this is a great space and adds to the hotels atmosphere. The room felt a bit dated, I expected more for the price. it was nicer when we stayed a few years ago.
