The manager is friendly and they manage to keep the place reasonably clean.
Truly, it's a bnb cheaply slopped together from an old building. It's not any where close to a hotel, which I paid for and expected. Room is barebone and not even a table to lay your stuff on. An about 10 inches wide shelf is even broken from the anchor. I felt like staying in a slum.

As the name says, special botique center town hotel. Great location to tackle all touristic attractions, from 5terre to Porto Venere. Not to mention La Spezia is also very nice. Recommend this hotel, very friendly personnel and delicious local food breakfast

A lovely stay with friendly and helpful staff
The location was excellent only just off the main street but nice and quiet. Anna was so friendly and helped us sort out what to do and see during our stay. Mary in the breakfast room was lovely too, so cheerful. The breakfast was good for a 2 star hotel. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Our outlook from the window was pretty grim, I think other bedrooms overlooked the courtyard which would have been much better. Still we werent in there that much.

Definitely would stay again, and recommend it to friends.
Breakfast was fresh, varied, and perfect to start the day. Staff were available for any requests, and very informative regarding the area/places to see. The private courtyard was a real bonus.

    Great location, lovely staff. Recommended.
Brilliant location, right off the main shopping drag but actually really quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, the pillows superb and the AC worked well. Breakfast was varied and sized just right for a busy day of sightseeing. The staff were great - really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Anna in particular was a great ambassador for the hotel and a real asset!
The room furnishing was slightly basic - I like a comfy chair to sit in while reading, but there were none in the property, not even outside in the lovely courtyard. The chair in the room was really only suitable for sitting in while putting on your shoes!

Location was very central to main shopping district and restaurants, so excellent to be in the central hub. Short walk down the hill from the main train station. Generally very quiet as little alleyway entrance to hotel that is hidden away from main street noise. Had all the essentials for a very enjoyable short stay and staff were fantastic.

    Very poor
Hugely disappointing stay with inadequate host
There were two members of staff, Anna the managers assistant and Anne Marie the maid, who were really lovely. The bathroom was adequate, with decent products.
The host/boss who I believe was called Guilermo called me a few times leading up to the stay to try and pin me down to an exact time for arrival which is tricky. When I tried to state 2.30-3.30 he made it 3, so that when we arrived 10 minutes before that he was not there. He arrived eventually and was the only host we have had out of 4 in our trip, to ask for the money upfront, and even when we replied credit card to his question of what form of payment, he still said he preferred cash. We duly paid but wished we had seen the room first. I had booked the garden room and this came out at almost 200 euro per night. For that I do not expect to be led to what looks like a rusty lock up, then past the "garden" and to a "Flat" which although spacious was like a shanty town apartment. the furniture looked like it was cobbled together at home and things were rusty and makeshift looking. Don't take my word for it, photos are attached. You can see the headboard of bed and sofa are wood with cloth thrown over. There were scrawls on the walls for decoration, which added to the general "prison" like feel. And finally, the electrics are wired so that you have to switch the lights and electrics off from outside the bedroom, also one switch turn everything on and off, so that you cannot watch TV in bed and have a lamp on, you have to watch in bright light and then get up to switch all off outside. When we tried to discuss with Guilermo he did his usual thing of pretending not to understand English. I wish we hadn't paid before seeing it, it was the worst stay we had with the worst host, and all our other stays and hosts were so perfect - even though this was the most expensive place.
