Lovely place, hospitable, friendly, can accommodate a pet.

Very nice house and the room along with breakfast facility. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious and rich food. No stress, travelling with a dog. Lovely treats such as a welcome drink or packed lunch. Thank you - we had great time!

I expected the room to be a bit bigger, but no issue at all. I would not mind a small welcome treat for our dog - but again not a problem. We enjoyed the stay.

If you are a walker the location is great, there are a number of full day walks straight from the hotel and the food on an evening is amazing.

The hotel accepts dogs and are friendly to dogs, but this is not a dog focused/friendly hotel. We will stay again because its a great place but we will leave the ESS at home.

Stunning ancient building in a lovely peaceful location

Stunning ancient building in a lovely peaceful location. Great for the High Peak and Tissington trail as well as access to the countryside. Excellent staff.

I stayed in the garden accommodation in quite a small but well equipped room. A bit noisy with the people above (possibly with a dog) but otherwise a pleasant stay.

Very enjoyable stay in a very welcoming environment

We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didnt expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.

Great place to stay to explore Derbyshire

Very good welcome on arrival. Comfy room with outside access ideal for staying with dogs. Beautiful location. Tea making facilities and drinks replenished each day. Complimentary drinks in the fridge and packed lunches provided. Evening meals and breakfasts very good. Gluten free options available. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.

It was great nothing to complain about. The only comment is that dogs are made welcome but it would be good if there was a small area where they could eat with you. Mine were fine in the car but I couldn't leave them in the car if it was hot. I did see someone with a dog in a greenhouse.

Superb

Lovely and peaceful country retreat in the heart of the Peak District

The breakfast was quite nice - fresh fruits, yogurts, juices, and a small selection of hot foods as well. The room was very clean and spacious, with a spotless bathroom. The setting is lovely - rural and peaceful with a number of good walks within a short distance of the village. The staff were friendly and cheerful and very accommodating of my late arrival.

I arrived late at night, so I didn't have time to air out the room before I needed to sleep. It was stuffy and hot. I was offered a fan but it never arrived. I opened all the windows, which helped cool it after about 40 minutes but I had to wait for it to cool before I could sleep comfortably, which meant staying awake later than I would have liked.

Lovely location, very nice restaurant, helpful staff, historic building well furnished with comfy bed and bedding, nice touches like local ale in fridge and pack lunches for hikes. Nice walks near by.
