Modern hotel in great location- good price

A modern hotel in a great location at a good price with helpful and friendly staff.

I had a slight problem operating the coffee machine in the room, but unplugging it and plugging in again sorted out the problem.

Good location, friendly staff, clean hotel, no bar.

Good Location, Clean room, albeit a little small. Reception staff were friendly.

Booking.com advertises a bar - there was no real bar and the tiny bar that was in the lobby area was closed for the duration of our stay.

The location was OK for beach and restaurants

The description when I booked this room was very misleading. I paid extra for a superior room so that we would have a mini bar and balcony. On arrival I found out that every room, including the cheaper Comfort rooms, have a 'mini bar' which is in fact an empty mini fridge with 2 free bottles of water on arrival and nothing else for whole stay. Also, superior room had balcony..... again lots of the cheaper 'comfort' rooms also had balconys. I did question with hotel staff what I had paid extra for but they were incredibly rude and did not care that I was unhappy, they told me I got a robe and slippers...... not really worth the extra money!! On our first day it was so hot in the room, I had trouble getting our air con to work to later be told by the reception staff that they had turned the air con off and we could only have heat option in rooms......they had the air con on in the reception area though....just not for guets in rooms.

At check out time, I was at the lobby with a guest and as I got off the couch to head to the reception an unbalanced heavy wooden high chair next to me fell on the lobby mirror and broke it. You would expect hotel staff to come check on you after such traumatizing incident with glass breaking but on the contrary, at best western astoria, the staff after getting instructions from their manager, started guilt-tripping me. On top of that they insisted that i should be walking around with a third party property damage insurance?? to cover their mirror where I was expecting a hotel, as a property that accomodate third party, should have that insurance and not the guest. And you also expect the hotel insurance to cover you in case anything happened to you on their premises...or you wouldnt feel safe. I do not know what is wrong with that hotel management but what I know is that I have been to hundreds of hotel and this is the worst service and treatment I ever got...it is a shame to end your trip with such a traumatizing experience and guilt tripping that didnt end as they still harrasing me with letters to pay above 4000euro for their mirror... In my opinion, this hotel is a disgrace to the best western brand

Well located hotel with some room for improvement

This hotel is all about location: only a few meters from the seafront and the train station is on the other end of the street. A walk to the historical town of Antibes takes about 30 minutes. Rooms, though rather small, are comfortable for French standards, superior rooms are worth the extra cost. Breakfast is decent, with good coffee and perfect scrambled eggs. Staff is polite and helpfull. In spite of some minor negative issues, I would certainly consider coming back to this hotel when in Juan-les-Pins.

Lobby is disappointing: not cosy at all, with a sad plant in the middle and 90s decor - definitely in need of a refurbishment; looks like the lobby of a hospital. No bar on site (in spite of the description), nor restaurant. Beware: photos on the website can be quite deceiving: rooms look bigger and atmosphere is totally different from what it seems in the pictures. Cleaning could be more thorough - took only 10 minutes to clean the entire room (no vacuming whatsoever) - and I found a nail toe clipping on the balcony floor... I suppose rooms are cleaned more thoroughly in between guests but still...
