It was really hard to leave!

I had such a fabulous time staying at Atuh Forest. My bamboo hut was a dream come true with a gorgeous view to the sea. Set in a pretty garden, it was the perfect location. No AC is necessary and it was a joy to sleep with the doors open and hear the birds in the morning and the cockerels crowing. Gede and his wife were such incredible hosts and the kindest people you could possibly meet. He took me on his scooter to the beach and made sure that everything was perfect. Lovely organic fruit every morning and meals cooked with love and care.I couldn't have wished for a nicer stay anywhere. I extended my time here and found it very difficult to leave!

The neighbors next-door had a bit of a party on New Year's Eve but in general it was very peaceful there. There's a little bit of a glitch with the hot water and the pressure so either the water is too hot or it's not hot enough so that is something you might want to get Gede to fiddle about with. Honestly I had no complaints about my gorgeous holiday here!

Perfect place to relax & experience local culture!

We loved our stay at Atuh Forest Cottage, Gede and his family made us feel so welcome. This is the perfect place to stay if you want an authentic experience of country life in Nusa Penida. It was a peaceful, off the beaten track experience away from the crowds and Gede invited us to a ceremony at the local temple, which was a very special chance to see local life. Atuh Beach is about 5 mins by scooter or 30 mins walking, it was perfect to swim there at high tide but its too shallow for swimming at low tide. Highly recommend staying here!

The neighbours music was a bit loud one night, but thats life. Being nearby the local community in the area might impact people who want complete peace & quiet.

A retreat that supports local entrepreneurs

We stayed 3 nights under the care of Gede and his wife Dayu's care, it's an absolute bliss. Gede can help with scooter and transport arrangement to his place and Dayu's cooking is awesome! The location maybe far off most of the attractions besides Diamond and Atuh beach, but its not that big a problem if you ride a scooter. We totally enjoy our holiday and are equally as happy that we supported small and well run homestay like Atuh Forrest Cottage. Highly recommended.

I think the unit we stayed had some water pressure issue with the hot/cold water mixer, water pressure is low or too hot. It's no biggie and just a little feedback.

Magical place with wonderful view :)

The location was so calm and magical, peaceful and had a wonderful view. You can walk to Atuh Beach in half an hour if you cant drive a scooter, but you can also rent one from Gede. The family was so nice and friendly, managed everything we need, served the best food we had during our Bali Trip. Thank you so much for everything, for the delicious food and the driver for picking us up and bringing us to different places. we will definitely come back one time. Were missing your place already :) thank you for having us

Outstanding stay

We absolutely loved our stay! The hosts were very smiling, pleasant and kind people who made us feel at home. The food was amazing and tasted so good! Vegetarian options available for animal lover! The room was beautiful and the bed linen very confortable. It was very calm, peaceful, in nature. We really enjoyed the presence of their dog Pretty, who was adorable! It was very nice to see a happy dog We will definitely come back soon to see you and Pretty Thank you!!!

The best place in Penida

The place is amazing, the family is so kind and helpful for everything (scooter rent, boat ticket, transportation and more) The food are very delicious and very good price. The A/C is very good, the view from the balcon is just amazing. Excellent rapport quality/price. I highly recommand this place.

This place is an absolute gemstone of Nusa Penida. Located on the other side of the tourist oriented Island, where there is silence and nature. A few minutes from the Atuh Beach, which is much less touristy than the others. The owner and his wife are the sweetest People we have met during our Bali travels, plus their food is absolutely amazing!! Every fruit they give you is organic, grown by the locals, and much tastier than anywhere else we have tasted them. I think we tasted nearly everything from their menu and it was delicious!! Once you arrive and sit down in the outside dining room with a view on the valley and ocean, once you get a fresh juice of your taste, you Will Fall in love with this place :) Thank you for everything!!!
