Great kid friendly hotel, close to the beach and a short walk to Old Town

Great hotel for kids. They have inflatables, buckets, balls etc at the pool for them to use, and also some at the private beach. There is also a playground that is shaded by a net so it isn't too hot. Quite a lot of options at breakfast. The a la carte menu at the pool bar is fairly reasonably priced. Majority of staff are friendly. Really close to the beach, and you get one set of towels for the pool/beach and another set for showering. 20-30 minutes walk to Old town, but plenty of bars and restaurants along the way. Supermarket next door which is cheaper than the ones on the walk to Old town. Had a complimentary 15 minute massage voucher on arrival (although I think that was solely to drum up business in October) and a bottle of wine in the room. There is a gated car park at the back of the hotel, although suspect this may be overcrowded in summer months.

None of these were a huge issue, but just some comments that people may find useful. The quality of the bacon and sausages at breakfast was poor. The pool is really cold (I understand why), but it can be a bit off-putting for toddlers and my 2 year old didn't really want to get in it on some days. Not sure if this was just in October, but the sea view balconies do not get sun at any part of the day, which can make drying clothes difficult. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi is an extra charge. Asked if my room was going to be empty and whether I could therefore check out late (my flight arrived at 10pm and my flight departed at 10pm). Despite the room being empty, I still had to pay an extra 50 euros to stay until 5pm, it would have been more if I wanted to stay later than that.

The perfect choice in Rethymno

The staff was great, very polite, very attentive with kids and with the clients. The room was cleaned every day, the pool area and the garden was very clean, the food always fresh with a good variety, they helped us with baby friendly food. The hotel has a free private beach with sunbeds, they provide beach towels every day, the beach is just across the hotel, one minute walk. It's a sandy beach, ideal for baby, crystal clear water..The hotel has free private parking, spa zone, gym and a little space for the kids in the backyard. The city center is available by walking or driving, it's 20 min walk to the port.

BEST of Rethymno!

Location is amazing! Perfect for a seaside walk or run! Hotel is close to many restaurants and shops! A 20 minute walk to the port! The staff is welcoming and hospitable! Our room was impeccable, VERY modern and provided the comforts of home! Breakfast was PLENTIFUL and DELICIOUS! HUGE array of choices!! The restaurant also offers lunch and dinner options!

Dirty beach and poor customer experience!

- Food most of the time was good, most of the stuff in the restaurant was nice and caring. - Spa was nice, and ladies in spa were very friendly as well. - swimming pool is not big but doesnt get too crowded.

- Big issue for us was the beach, it was dirty cigarettes and pieces of plastic are everywhere! - Stuff at the reception was not helpful, we had a very bad experience with an excursion which they recommended to us, and Hotel didnt even want to make any compliment or a compensation, when the experience was provided through them and was purely terrible! - Location is so so, very far from the city and around there is nothing to do. - Room service/cleaning was not well organized, therefore 50% of time we had our room not cleaned until the afternoon so we had to ask for it ourselves. Overall far too expensive for what it is and it didnt give me the feeling of a hotel with five stars..

Overall it was enjoyable.

Large complete breakfast that was a very good quality. Beach is directly across the street from the hotel which is convenient. Check in challenging if you have a car due to lack of space in front of the hotel.

Price was higher than I hoped but was a last minute booking.

Very good

Very good location, near to the beach (across the stret) and 10 minutes walking distance from the Port, the city and other places of touristic value.

The room that we were had some issues, although very minor. Things like the towels hangers in the bathroom or that the coffee machine, but we had to pay the capsules refill at the reception desk.
