A thumb rule to plan one's journey is to log on to the Official Website of Vaishno Devi and check the number of pilgrims that are arriving daily to visit the Shrine. If the average number is below 15,000 to 18,000, you can expect fewer crowds at the temple. This would mean a comfortable and satisfying yatra. Take a refreshing break from the city life to answer the call of Vaishno Devi and embark on a memorable yatra to the Holy Shrine.

Vaishno Devi in Monsoon (July - September)

The monsoon season at Vaishno Devi is from August to September. In monsoons, you get to see breathtaking waterfalls surrounded by lush green forest. The region receives medium to heavy rainfall. Vaishno Devi in Winter (December - February)

Vaishno Devi experiences snowfall during December and January. The period can prove to be a very charming one to visit the Shrine. The Holy Cave Vaishno Devi is also open during the winters to provide a mystical experience performing Darshans through this cave. The weather here in winters is characterised by a sub-zero level temperature in addition to snowfall. The harsh temperature makes the pilgrimage difficult, but devotees still take the yatra for the Holy Cave. Wearing heavy woollen clothes is advisable. Unless you're physically fit and raring to go, this is not the ideal season for a visit.
