# Itinerary:

- You will have to arrange your own accommodation in Pokhara and transportation back to Kathmandu

## Day 0 Kathmandu

- 5:00pm approx. hotel pick up by rickshaw to the local operator's office
- Pre-trip briefing on the trek and hiking equipment
- Meet up with the trek leader and other team members
- Last minute shopping for personal items before the trip
- Welcome dinner in Kathmandu with a Nepali cultural program

## Day 1 Kathmandu - Besishahar - Nadi

- Pick up from hotel in Kathmandu
- 6 hour drive to starting point of our trek (Beshi Sahar Bhulbule Besishahar)
- 2-3 hour trek to Nadi passing villages, farms, rivers, and mountain scenery
- Overnight in Nadi (1,000m)

## Day 2 Nadi - Jagat

- 5 hour trek
- Pass the Marsangdi river, waterfalls, small villages and terraced farmland
- Cross a suspension bridge, view Manasalu and many other mountain peaks along the way
- Overnight in Jagat (1,100m)

## Day 3 Jagat - Dharapani

- 7-8 hour trek
- Cross a large bridge near Tal and enter the Manang district
- Traverse through barley, rice, and potato fields to the village of Kodo and Dharapani, one of the large villages in the Manang valley
- Overnight in Dharapani (1,960m)

## Day 4 Dharapani - Chame

- 5-6 hour trek
- Trek through steep forest ridges
- Be rewarded with views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV
- End the day with a small hot springs after a long day of hard trekking
- Overnight in Chame (2,710m)

## Day 5 Chame - Pisang

- 5-6 hour trek
- Trek through steep and narrow path through a very dense forest until the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1,500m from the river
- Arrive at the U-shaped valley of Manang between two giant snow peaks
- Overnight in Pisang (3,300m)

## Day 6 Upper Pisang - Manang

- 6-7 hour trek
- Take the upper route through Upper Pisang via Geru
- Admire outstanding panoramic views of the mountain peaks such as Annapurna, Pisang Peak, and more
- Experience contrasting landscapes on the trek while approaching a harsher and barren region due to the cold and dry climate
- Visit Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the entire Manang district
- Overnight in Manang (3,500m)

## Day 7 Manang

- Acclimitization day; take a short walk to higher altitudes to get acclimitized. Note that at this point of the trek, it's important not to stay still
- Visit Bhojo Gompa or Gangapurna Lake
- Take an easy excursion to a village called Vraga and see its monastery and the Himalayan Rescue Association where you can learn more about mountain sickness
- Overnight in Manang (3,500m)

## Day 8 Manang - Yak Kharka

- 3-4 hour trek
- Cross a stream to the village of Tenki above Manang and then continue to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley along the valley of Jarsang Khola
- Pass through pastures, juniper trees, and the small village of Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roofs
- Trek through meadows where you can spot horses and yaks grazing
- Cross a small river on a wooden bridge, and then traverse up the ancient Mani wall that reaches Yak Kharka, another small village
- Overnight in Yak Khraka (4,110m)

## Day 9 Yak Kharka - Thorong Phedi

- 3-4 hours trek
- Make your way to the foot of the pass, Thorong Phedi, a small busy settlement used as a base camp for trekkers and climbers
- Overnight in Thorong Phedi (4,600m)

## Day 10 Thorong Phedi - Thorong La - Muktinath*

- 7-8 hour trek
- Start the day early to complete the task of crossing the famous high pass, Thorong La (5,416m), the climax of the trek
- Walk through the icy high altitude trail while gazing at the mesmerizing Himalayan scenery
- Begin the slow descent to Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists and demonstrates the religious harmony of Nepal
- Overnight at Muktinath (3,800m)

## Day 11 Muktinath - Tatopani

- 4 hour trek
- Take a bus or jeep to drive along a plateau above the Kali Gandaki, the world's deepest gorge
- Arrive at Tatopani, relax your weary muscles and dip in hot spring pools
- Overnight in Tatopani (3,135m)

## Day 12 Tatopani - Pokhara

- Bus from Tatopani to Pokhara
- Drop off at hotel within Pokhara

## General

- This trek is of medium difficulty, a good level of fitness is required
- This trek can be enjoyed any time of the year. However, the recommended hiking season is between Mar-May and Sep-Nov where the weather is warm and skies are clear
- Both English and Chinese-speaking guides are available. There will be an additional USD200 surcharge per trip for Chinese-speaking guides. Please indicate your preference at the checkout page
- Your safety is of paramount concern throughout the trek. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary as stated; however, weather conditions, health conditions of a group member, and any unexpected natural disasters can contribute to changes in the itinerary. In case of natural calamities i.e. political unrest, cancellation of flight due to weather, landslides, etc. any extra charges incurred will be shouldered by you
- Though not mandatory, travel and accident insurance is highly recommended

## Meals

- Breakfast and dinner will be served at the teahouse while lunch will be served at one of the restaurants along the trek
- Breakfast is included in both half board and full board option and typically consists of noodles, porridge, bread, and eggs
- If you have chosen the half board option, you will have the flexibility of choosing your own lunch and dinner that will suit your taste and budget. Alternatively, you may pack your own food (e.g. cup noodles)
- If you have chosen the full board option, meals provided are typically dahl curry and vegetables
- Boiled water is provided at teahouses. Soft drinks, snacks, and beer are available at the teahouse and restaurants at an additional cost
- Please indicate any dietary requirements at the checkout page

## Accommodations

- You will stay in teahouse lodges throughout the trek
- Private rooms are available at lower altitudes. At higher altitudes, the rooms are dormitory style
- Toilets are shared, blankets are provided and running water is available
- Majority of teahouses have cold showers, some provide hot water at additional cost
- Some teahouses have electricity where you can charge your appliances (mobile phones and cameras) at an additional cost

## What to Bring

- Pack lightly; the porter can carry up to a maximum of 25kg (shared between two trekkers). The porter will carry your belongings in a duffel. Please pack your belongings in a plastic bag or lightweight cotton bag
