Arambol Beach, Goa Overview

Beautiful and serene, Arambol Beach is among the best beaches of North Goa and is relatively unexploited by tourist activities. Considered to be one of the most spectacular beaches in Goa, Arambol beach has a distinct Bohemian feel to it, which attracts tourists from all over the world. Be it wellness pursuits at a Yoga class on the beach, a drum circle and a weekend beachside market at sunset, a mystical baba on top of a hillock, jumping off a cliff to paraglide or simply strolling about the kitschy market lanes; there is something for every soul in Arambol.

It is among the northernmost beaches in Goa and is bordered by Keri or Querim beach on one end and Morjim on the other. Arambol Beach is a rocky cum sandy beach blessed with jungles on one end and the sea on the other. 


Arambol Sweet Water Lake

Arambol Beach is also famous for the sweet water lagoon or lake that is located at the end of the adjacent beach i.e. Kalacha beach. It is accessible only on foot and its shallow waters are wonderfully calm to swim in. The sand here is also known to have healing properties. The soft white sand and the clear waters offer a visual treat to the travellers and is perfect for sunbathing. The main part of the Arambol beach is a long stretch of curving sand which serves as a perfect spot for swimming. If adventure is your thing, then a small hillock near the beach also offers paragliding and dolphin watching boat trips.

However, tourists choosing to stay for longer durations of time prefer service apartments or basic BnB type of accomodations. There is a constant increase in the number of travellers here due to cheap and comfortable accommodation facilities available here. 

The best time to visit the Arambol beach is between November and March. It is also during this time that the beach receives the maximum number of international tourist as the weather is enjoyable.

The beach shacks at Arambol Beach play host to a number of as the happening beach parties in Goa. The surrounding jungle, hammocks, lagoon, lake and the picturesque beauty of this place; all combine to make it the perfect place for the party seekers. There is a relaxed vibe all around and a number of places playing live music. Psytrance is also a huge draw for the crowds here as they throng in numbers of a night of upbeat partying.
Arambol also has a myriad of shacks that serve delicious food and a relaxed vibe. Places such as Relax Inn, Basho's, Laughing Buddha serve amazing and authentic Goan food. Don't forget to sample the fresh and simple seafood and delicacies such as Vindaloo, Sorpotel, Cafreal and more. You can spend a whole day and night here chilling and chatting with your pals over some beers and finger food. The Arambol Beach is said to be discovered by some hippies looking for an escape from the fading flower power era of the west in 1960's. Since then the town has welcomed locals, tourists and long-term visitors searching for some peace, solitude and untouched terrain. One can sit here and gaze at the waters or the beautiful scenery adorned by the cliffs on all sides. The beach restaurants here offer food at almost half the price than other beaches, making it an even better choice for the visitors.

Arambol Beach is located at a distance of 50 kilometres from Panaji and about 30 kilometres from Anjuna Beach. Most popular options of transportation are a scooter and motorcycles that can be rented from almost every guest house. You can also find a taxi off the main street or through a travel agency. On reaching the destination, exploration on foot is the best option. You can even take a stroll across the Arambol Beach and reach Kalacha Beach within no time.
  • Air: If you travelling by air to reach Arambol, the Dabolim airport is just 60 km away from Arambol. You can easily book a taxi to make the drive of a couple of hours to reach.

  • Rail: The nearest train station to Arambol beach is Pernem and it lies at a distance of approximately 11 km from the beach. From here, you can take the local transport to reach Arambol or hire a moped.

  • Road: It is extremley easy and convenient to reach Arambol by road. It is located at a distance of about 20 km from the nearest major bus station ie Mapusa. One can hire a moped or a bike at the bus station itself. However, do remember to carry a valid drivers ID and a helmet. Moreover, it is also well connected to Mumbai and Pune via the NH 48.

Very nice place to be during dusk. Nice music, good food, clean beach and being far away from the crowd makes it an ideal place to be in in Goa.

Sunset is awesome at arambol. You get to do belly dance on the beats of drums.
