Sainte Anne Marine National Park, Seychelles Overview

Ste Anne Marine National Park, located just 5km from Mahe, is the oldest marine reserve in Seychelles. It comprises a group of six islands made up of volcanic rock and granite. A popular tourist destination, it is perfect for snorkelling, diving and glass boat bottom excursion. There are also marked regions for swimming, windsurfing and picnic. The reserve is home to over 150 marine species.

Out of the six islands, Cerf Island and Moyenne Island are the most popular with the day-trippers. Most tour operators from Mahe organise a snorkelling tour to these islands. St Anne Island is the largest island and is known for its stunning beaches and is an important nesting site for hawksbill turtles (especially from November to February). Round Island is another snorkelling spot with beautiful beaches while Long Island is being developed into a luxury resort. The smallest island, Ile Cachée is uninhabited and a nesting site for seabirds.

2. Snorkelling

The best snorkelling points lie between Moyenne Island and Sainte Anne Island. How to Reach Sainte Anne Marine National Park

There are many local tour agencies which offer half-day tours to Sainte Anne Marine National Park. These tours include one to three snorkelling points. Most of the tours start from Victoria and cost around EUR 50 per person. There are also boat services operated by Cerf Island to Mahe on a regular basis.
