Pahang Tourism

Formally known as Pahang Darul Makmur, meaning the Abode of Tranquility, Pahang is a serene Malaysian state that comprises eleven Daerah or Districts. This piece of endless tropical calmness is said to have been part of history itself since the palaeolithic times. Home to a vast eastern coastline, Pahang is the largest state in the Malaysian Peninsular and the third largest in all of Malaysia.

A large number of Malays inhabit the secular Islamic state of Pahang, which has thus given rise to its cultural and ethnic outlining. Home to Taman Negara; a 130-million-year-old rainforest and Endau-Rompin National Park, the activities available in Pahang come in all shapes and genres.

There are fascinating broadway walks at the Bentong Walk, hiking opportunities at the Cameron Highlands and the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary nature time. Pahang also offers offbeat activities such as caving at the famous Charas Limestone Caves and firefly catching at Cherating.

The land of  dense greenery, intense forest reserves, abundant rivers and marine life also has a firm founding with visual arts. Much like other Malaysian states, Pahang too boasts of creative expertise in silversmithing, weaving, carving, calligraphy, ornamental kris and lists more.

Pahang never runs out of rice, the staple of the land. Thus, it shares in some of the traditional rice-based Malay cuisines. However, seafood sits on the gastronomical throne of the state, with a never-ending taste for freshwater fish, showcased both in culinary and presentation.
