Uma Nanda Temple is an ancient temple dating back to 17th century. Established by King Gadapani of Ahom, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located on a small picturesque Brahmaputra River isle also known as Peacock Island and houses the endangered golden Langurs.

Serves as a sanctuary, the island is home to several other species of animals and birds that live here peacefully. Ganesh Temple is another popular temple on this island located at a small distance from Uma Nanada temple which can be covered on foot, motorboat or shared ferry.
