The city of Bruges is so small, that traversing on foot is the best way to get around. There are several walking tours organised that try and span the major attractions of this city. Make sure to be in comfortable footwear because of the cobblestoned roads.
If your two feet can not carry you for long consider hiring a bicycle, which is another convenient way of exploring the city. Some lanes in fact have separate bicycle paths for ease of riding. There are several places to hire your two wheeler without payment of any deposit.
An occasional boat ride along the canals could also be a great way to admire the city.
Taxis, although available, are not as convenient owing to the narrow streets of Bruges and also need to be hired in advance.
De Lijn operates bus services networked all over the city, however you would not need one to move around except for maybe traveling from the Bruges station to the town center.
