Disappointing

There was seepage of rain water in our room 3 times from the window during our one day stay. The water supply went away and there was only boiling hot water when it resumed. The staff is good but the owners should put some more efforts to maintain the place for the amount they are charging

Had a god stay at The Ramp. Kind staff. Always ready to help and make the stay a pleasure.

This review is for a basic hotel and not luxury. For that it was quite good. Slept much better here than the higher standard hotel in Kandy (The Radh). Simple breakfast, simple bathroom, simple room, and uncomplicated service. Near restaurants and easily walkable into the centre. This hotel had the BEST chilli paste of ALL Sri Lanka, This alone is reason to stay here and travel to Nuwara Eliya!

Would be nice to have a bathroom towel for the floor. A lock boos too! Not having one was uncomfortable.

Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

Room was very well presented and very clean. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful with our onward journey. Breakfast was fantastic.

When we stayed the weather was very wet and the room was a little cold.

Good place, if there is no rain

The building looks gorgeous on the outside, the room was very pretty, it had two small balconies (one did not seem accessible though). The view was nice and the location was a walking distance from the center. At the beginning of our stay the staff was quite friendly and helpful, they gave us an umbrella and were quite nice. But not always

The weather was cold and rainy (yet not something too unusual for the region), so the room ended up being quite cold, since it had no heating or any type of AC (which means neither to cool the room down on the hot days). The bathroom was a disaster, because absolutely everything was leaking heavily, and the drainage seemed to be clogged. The shower kept changing the temperature, so if you like the contrast shower, that is the place to go. The breakfast only starts at 8 (which is a bit late for the usual standards). If you want to take the scenic train to Ella, for example, you will be quite tight on the schedule. We actually asked the reception guy about a possibility of having a small take-away breakfast a bit earlier, and he very kindly agreed to that. However, on the day of our departure, it turned out that he did not arrange it and we had to ask the kitchen staff by ourselves (they were nice enough to make it, but had to do it in a rush). Another thing that was quite disappointing for us was when right before our departure the same guy who forgot about our breakfast asked us to give the property a 10 points score on Booking, to which I said that I would give the score which I consider appropriate, then he insisted on us putting a 10, saying that all the suggestions and complaints we can write in the comments section or in their book of complaints (but the score has to be 10). He explained that this will help the hotel go up in the ranking list, which I understand. I stated again that I will not put a fake mark, after which the guy got quite annoyed and completely changed his attitude. It is very much against my values, so here is the well deserved review on this place. It still deserves an 8, but who knows how many fake 10s there are in their reviews
