Im glad I chose this hotel. I hope to return

I loved the location both in terms of access to local amenities, safety and generally. Staff were great - very helpful throughout. The food outlets were really good too. The room was good too. Clean and different. I personally liked quirky hotels, and this one is definitely that. I liked that they provided water and fruit daily. And the generous supply of towels and toiletries. I love that there are USB points next to the bed.

Things that I wish it had. A bigger table in the room, especially for those who would like to combine a bit of work with a pleasure trip. The table that was in there is too small to do much with. A proper chair too, instead of a stool. I agree the latter is cute, but not of much use.

This was my second time staying here. I was here in March and loved the neighborhood of this Hutong area. The room I got this time was the one with the skylight. The space of the room is fantastic, definitely preferred it over the garden room. It feels like a studio in itself. Love having the staircase that leads to the bed above the couch, the couch area comes with a massive mirror which makes the room feel very spacious. The skylight is quite the bonus. I could watch the moon from the bed. Very lovely room. Breakfast is also so good. I tried all four sets on the menu.

Exceptional mini-hotel in a lively hutong area

Located in a classic courtyard well-within a traditional neighbourhood and close to city attractions, but gently customized for Western tastes and sensibilities. Main restaurant serves east Mediterranean food -- shakshuka, etc -- and to a good standard. A high-quality Cantonese restaurant, speakeasy bar and bakery integrated into the property. Super staff, better English fluency than even more expensive hotels. No pompousness.

Some of the dcor is starting to show its age.

Most importantly, very helpful staff to share recommendations, arrange taxis, make reservations for restaurants, ... It helped to get to know the city better. The location is charming and the room was very cozy. The in-house restaurants serve very tasty food.

It can be hard to get in and out of the area with a taxi, but the narrow streets are part of the district's charm. Our room didn't have a lot of natural light, but again, it comes together with the charm of staying in a hutong district

Great spot surrounded by cutest streets

Breakfast was great! The Brownies from the Bake shop are *chefs kiss* Its in a cute area. Once youve arrived and carted your luggage, youll appreciate it so much more. I definitely would appreciate it better in the summer. The staff are amazing. So attentive and very helpful. It was colder than expected so they brought us an extra heater. The cats deserve an increase though. They are the star employees with their cute appearances after a day of exploring :)

Arriving and leaving can be a bit of a hassle because of the narrow streets so taxis drop you off on the main road instead. With smaller luggage in better weather, this wouldnt be an issue at all. Definitely a charming hotel which I would like to return to in the summer

We enjoyed our stay at the Orchid, staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The bed and armchairs in our room were comfortable too. We had a choice between English and Cantonese food for breakfast, and we enjoyed the former more.

The bathroom and tap water were a little cold (given that we came in the middle of a cold spell it would have helped to have warmer tap water). We also wished that the hotel was a little closer to the subway (cant be helped! But do note its a 10-15 minute walk). Taxis also can come into the hutong, but you may have to insist since some drivers may just drop you on the main road.

Exceptional

Heart-warming stay on freezing winter days. Staffs were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a rennovated historical building with many good places to eat and enjoy hutongs view. Room design is a happy surprise. Loved the vibe.

Everything was perfect. Can't ask for more.

Hidden Gem in Beijing

Great hotel in a great location. We were upgraded to a Residence which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was fantastic with two restaurants to choose from. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
