Lovely hotel service not up to par on this visit

Stayed at the grand many times great location and lovely spacious rooms

Went between Xmas new year and it was busy. Asked if I wanted breakfast and went down around 9:45 next morning no capacity people were waiting on tables. Decided after 15 mins to as for a refund which they did. Evening before went to the bar which is lovely. 12.5 % is fine for a service charge if your getting served in a timely manner that was not the case. 17 for an expreso martini is ridiculous.

Great location for a short stay disappointing service.

Location

Hotel requires redecorating, lots of scuffs on the walls, chipped bedroom furniture No service at breakfast, no one attended our table, other tables being served but we had to get our drinks ourselves and dirty plates not cleared.

Perfect : )

Everything from start to finish was top quality, from the doormen to reception to the bar staff. The French 75 Cocktails a must in the bar. Every interaction was immaculate. Room was clean and comfortable and location was perfect. : )

Always worth the money for a dreamy stay in York

Our second time staying here. You know what you're getting here. Impeccable service from the door staff, concierges, receptionists & housekeepers. Facilities are top notch, the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable & the location is great, especially if you know the city quite well. Always worth the price for a treat.

Nothing, just wish I could have stayed for longer! We will be back again next year

Great location. Great staff.

Excellent location. Walking distance from station, and city. Front of house staff exceptional.

Granted it was over New Year, but the bar area was full and we were offered seating in the hallway! Maybe on busier nights another room could be opened up. For the price of the room, a nightcap at the hotel would have been lovely, but not sat in the hallway.
