A fantastic experience which was enhanced by the gorgeous Christmas decorations.

The grandeur

The restaurant staff in the grill/ pasta/ international restaurant at night time seemed to dislike their jobs. And, the pea mash was potato mash. The rooms also need a slight refresh.

Disappointing

I had really high hopes that failed to deliver

The decorations for Christmas were beautiful. The place was immaculately cleaned. Staff were always polite and greeted you.

Our room had terrible sound proofing and we could here the revolting ablutions of the man next door in his bathroom in way more detail than I ever need to again. It was situated at the top of the stairs and everyone passed by. One night some guests even sat on the sofas outside our room chatting and drinking. The bed was a regular double (so quite small really) and hard. All in made for very poor sleep quality and not a very peaceful experience.

The staff of the pool doesn't control and follow the pool rules . The guests can do whatever they want and nobody cares , also an atmosphere isn't relaxing

A lovely way to treat ourselves whilst backpacking!

The property was beautiful based in a lovely little town. We visited in December and the whole hotel was decorated with Christmas trees making two travellers feel very festive.

A step back in time! A historic venue, full of old world charm! Amazing gardens, wonderful staff, delicious breakfast too! Definitely worth a stay, at least once!

A treat to stay in such a well renovated and run hotel with such a lot of history.

Loved the grandeur and old world charm of The Grand Hotel. The gardens, pool and rooms were all beautiful. The staff, especially Senthil, the butler who gave us a guided tour of the hotel, were fantastic. The breakfast buffet was the most extensive and interesting Ive seen.
