Menzel in Ubud offers a tranquil retreat with both private and public pools, boasting scenic views of the resort's rice paddies. Accessible by car or scooter, this locally-owned gem provides a secret escape. Rooms are pristine, insect-free, and well-ventilated. The staff is accommodating, striving to fulfill special requests. The food, particularly during BBQ night, is exceptional, complemented by convenient packed breakfast options.

However, amenities like a bathroom weighing scale are absent, and improvements in internet connectivity and room lighting are suggested.

My partner and I had a great stay here, would most definitely stay again!

From the moment we checked in the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities were great, the restaurant serves delicious breakfast each morning and the pool and spa were excellent too. There are plenty of activity options provided by the hotel to keep you entertained and experience Ubud and its surrounds

Beautiful pool and seating area.

Very comfy bed and amazing space in the room.

Just a little mosquitos around the room which come from outside. Wish if bathrooms were also a little cleaner.

Pleasant

It's a nice stay for a night, not centrally located if you want to be close to the center. Nice scenery from the pool and restaurant.

Rooms need to be freshened up, really outdated, and could have been much nicer.

The attention of the staff was great. Except for the first night where we ordered a bowl with salmon, mine came without Salmon the receptionist apologized but i got charged for a plate with salmon which I never got.

Devoured by insects.

Pretty view

Got devoured by mosquitoes and insects during my stay. The bathroom and room has windows that have open vents that allow almost every creature in the jungle into the room. Multiple geckos screaming all night as well as the cicadas keeping me up all night. Zero sound proofing with the rooms. As soon as I arrived and saw the state of everything I begged to cancel or at least checkout early and receive a refund. They said no to both, had to endure my entire stay there, although housekeepers attempted to cover the gaps in the window, it ultimately failed. They play American music at the reception and front pool areas which just ruins the entire peaceful Balinese vibe youd want at a resort. Wouldnt recommend to anyone, please dont go here.

the room is really really lovely as well as the setting in this lush tropical garden. What a beautiful place! the restaurant's food is really good, and the breakfast included is sooo nice!

The pro's are real, unfortunately in my experience there were too many con's for the price asked. Maybe related to the location of my room. my room was the one right next to the restaurant, behind the bar, i could hear every noise from there. Also there is music all days long... considering the price i paid i expected something quiet. I was there for my first 2 days in Bali straight from the airport and i wish i could enjoy the silence, or at least sound of the birds, frogs and various insects without musical background. I have been told afterwards it was a "music restaurant". it was not clear to me when i booked. And the pool area is right next to the restaurant, so very limited privacy. the pillows broke my neck, way too thick.

A rejuvenating getaway.

The beautiful view. The overall ambience was exceptionally serene against a scenic backdrop of Bali's abundant foliage. Additionally, the poolside breakfast was very enjoyable and the staff was cooperative and welcoming.
