The Cromwell Hotel & Casino

We had multiple maintenance issues in our room. We were told by an employee that the hotel no longer does any type of routine maintenance on the rooms. We had no HVAC for 2 of our 3 nights. The bathroom sink backed up with nasty stuff. No shower soap, no bedside lamps - we didn't know if that was just how the room came, we just knew the room was dark with only 2 small feature down lights for the entire room - walking in the dark at night to the bed after turning the switch off at the door was unsafe. Every piece of everything in the entire hotel is worn including the elevator interior. There has been zero thorough cleaning in a very long time. The bed was completely broken down to the point of having to use pillows across the mid to even be able to sleep. On the third night they moved us to a suite from our "luxury" room. The suite did have some nice amenities, but the cleanliness, or lack thereof was the same and the bed was also broken down and there was no sign for the door. Now I know that isn't a big deal, we could just ask for a sign, but when you put together all of the things that were missing from our room(s) where is Housekeeping's QC checklist? They offered to deduct the "resort fee" from our bill. This is after we spent our first night in the horrid "luxury room" & after we spent 2nd over an hour at 10-11:30pm waiting for maintenance to get finished trying to fix what couldn't be fixed so that we could go to bed to be ready for our 7:00 am meeting the next day. I booked this room because the photos showed a sexy, sultry type room and we were celebrating our anniversary. I booked a "strip view" King room and then when we checked in we laid a hefty tip asking for the best room possible. Our first room overlooked the service drive way &had major issues...so that is what our tip got us.

We were driving through on our way back from a trip and wanted to do a night in Vegas. Booking lists $45 in resort fees that are in the total price paid. When we got to the front desk in resort they charged us an additional $50 in resort fees. The $100 hold for incidentals is understandable but tacking on another $50 that you wont get back seems excessive. Especially when we already paid $143 for the room and resort fees on booking. I tried explaining that we already paid $45 in resort fees but she vaguely and quickly explained that wasnt in the booking. One of the elevators was out of service but not blocked off. The room was dingy and needed a good cleaning. Dust was built up on most surfaces. The corners and edges of the floor needed to be swept. There was a gap all the way around the mattress and the bed frame and it was filthy. Dust, crumbs, and the top of a q-tip were a few of the things I noticed in that area. We were there maybe 30 minutes and decided to leave and find somewhere else to stay. Cheesy is the best way I can describe the entire experience.
