Beautiful holiday by the sea.

I enjoyed my stay at Barefoot a lot, most of the time I was barefoot in fact. The room was beautiful, overlooking the sea. I loved the yoga practice in the mornings and there was a great selection of food in the buffet table, even for a vegetarian. The beach is absolutely beautiful, very relaxing holiday. I took part in several excursions and the guides always did their best that we would have a fantastic experience!

Chilled out atmosphere. Half board offered good variation of international food, but the local snacks at the beachside shack were very delicious too!

Snorkelling gear for rent is too expensive.

Splendid holidays

Relaxing vibe, spacious room with seaview, very friendly staff, good selection at the dinner buffet. Beachside calm and chilled. Architecture, garden and eco concept very well done! The pool was perfect for swimming and above all the ocean biologist did an amazing job offshore as well as during her tutorials. And yes, you really may walk barefoot all the time ;)

To further improve the eco concept I would ask the guests for waste separation in rooms as well. Massages were totally nice but could be offered for a lower price. Daily yoga classes were enjoyable but I wouldnt have minded more variations in the yoga programme over the week.

We had a beautiful stay at the barefoot hotel. The staff was super nice and the beach is stunning. We loved our stay.

It was clean and sustainable.

We were missing the traditional Maledivian food. Due to Corona the weekly Maledivian dinner night was cancelled.

Exceptional

The location of the Hotel is excellent. When You want to go to experience a one-lifetime adventure in the Maldives and You cannot afford the 5-star-resorts bungalow prices, but you don't want to stay at a guesthouse in a local village, or in a cityhotel, the Barefoot Eco Hotel is the perfect choice, I'd return tomorrow. It offers you wonderfull whitesand beach with palmtrees and azure ocean, how you imagine the Maldives, normal catering and other optional services on an acceptable price. The staff is kind and available.

The place is full of italian guests and some of them are really italian (shouting from long distance to each other, avoiding queues, leaving mess behind,...), but if you manage not to pay attention, or let all of these just entertain you, you're good. The other thing that disturbed us was that on all service the Hotel applies automaticaly 10% of service charge + local tax. Moreover you'll find everwhere tip boxes and in addition the staff comes to you stating that you're free to give them tips. I mean, the catering staff is kind, but sometimes between two mouthfulls you have 3 of them to ask:"hello Sir, how are you, how was your day?!" and on the third day, you feel it too much... Anyway nothing exceptional, I'd really return tomorrow the way it was and it is.
