Pleasant stay with heart warming hotel staff

The staff are absolutely amazing. Special mention goes out to the efficent services received by the follwing employees, Barman Stephen, Bartender Chandra, Frontline staff Viknesh who went out of his way to show me a room that I could be comfortable in. The Manager for arranging delivery to my next hotel of shoes that I left behind. She made numerous calls to check in with me. The waiter that is working there for the last 30 years, so pleasant and always checking with us(unfortunately cannot remember his name). The excellent service from the staff is the only aspect that give the hotel a decent rating.

The rooms are extremely dated and in need of a major revamp to accordate the extremely high rates charged. I was so disappointed with the heritage room I booked and Viknesh assisted me to upgrade and find a more comfortable room. This came at a very high cost and the room is really not value for money. The beds need to be replaced, very old and noisy. The bathrooms are extremely old and needs to be renovated. The hotel rooms smell very musty and the are no diffusers in the hotel to counteract the smells. This is a heritage hotel but this should not be an excuse to look at renovating the hotel.

Lovely stay at the Taj

Very charming property with a historic past. Spacious rooms with well appointed with amenities Taj never disappoints and this place was no exception!

Fabulous Short Stay

We like the heritage design of the hotel and spacious room. We ate most of our meals in the hotel. During meals in the Verandah and Raintree there were music and dance entertainment. The serving teams at both restaurants will go to extra mile for you and all are awesome.

A luxury hotel in a good location that met expectations.

The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices. There was also live music from a flautist.

Some people who had checked in late were being very loud outside my room. I had to call the Manager to tell them to go to their rooms.

Waah Taj !! One of the finest in Chennai !!

The hospitality of all the staffs be it at the check-in counter or at the restaurant or the room cleaning staffs, everyone was very very nice. For me the hospitality at this hotel is by far the best.

The smell in the room was a bit off. As you enter the room you feel that smell coming right at your nose that is not pleasant But as this is the oldest hotel in Chennai, this was meant to happen but the staffs and their behavior towards every customer and the way they looks after everyone really makes up for it.

Staffs were welcoming, rooms were exceptionally clean. Fell in love with breakfast ambience.

Room wifi disconnected , and I had to use data roaming. TV channels were limited to hindi channels despite being located in TAMILNADU. taste of morning buffet can be improved
