lobby etc need refreshing - looks run down - but room is great !

the room was comfortable and clean - great view - nice bedding and bed and great location .

I thought paying so much extra when parking at the hotel was a bit much. Also, complicated pre checking its an expensive hotel , I was traveling from Europe, I did not have local cell coverage when I landed and just wanted to check in when I got there but they had to send SMS and fill out forms and think you should be able to do check in at the front desk like any normal hotel. I stayed here 14 years ago and boy does it look run down and out of date in the lobby and common areas - it looks like a school or hospital lobby now - the only nice part is the room - the rest of the hotel looks really sad with a tacky rent a car sign and stand in the lobby and its a shame because its a great location ..

The staff were all very welcoming and the service was great!

No free breakfast, no free bottled water at a 300+ a night hotel. And I booked for a 4 person stay and the room was not even big enough for four people. This is the first time I've seen a minibar included, but there was a charge for the minibar. All the hotels I've stayed at that say they include a minibar, the drinks in the minibar are free.

The worst part is being woken up at 4am each morning with cleaning staff below my room dragging tables and chairs around

I have stayed here once a year for the last 10 years on my way back to Australia. And the location is fantastic.

Its run down badly. No money has been spent on the place. Some front desk staff are rude. Furniture in room all falling apart. Shower blocking up with water. Vanity doing the same.

ALL the staff, from reception to housekeeping to the guys keeping the luggage, were really nice and helpful! And the location the best. Few minutes walk to The Pier and the Santa Monica mall

My wife had a medical emergency in Huntington Beach on the way to the shore hotel , after informing the hotel 3 times about our situation they refused us to reschedule or a refund, booking.com also reached out to the property to make an exception, and they still refused stating it was the policy of our booking, I guess corporate greed makes no exceptions even with medical emergencies, make sure you look at all the details if you book this hotel, what a disappointment not only to us but to future customers that may be put in a similar situation, the hotel was always putting themselves in the right due to policy and not doing the right thing for the customer in an emergency health situation
