Very good

Our group was quite happy with the stay overall.

Location good. Breakfast not bad. Requested adjoining rooms and was given two rooms at the end of corridor through a private entrance. Pillows and beds are good, quiet room. The fact that room had a knife to help us to cut the complimentary fruits was very thoughtful. Will come back and stay

There should be a light bulb outside the private entrance to help see the keyhole. Hotel spa was not so professionally run.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The space was beautiful and clean. The location was perfectly situated at the edge of the old quarter.

The rooms were small. However, this is quite typical of hotels in that area.

Hospitality & attentiveness of the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating from beginning to end. Helped us with A/C issue and all the tours and taxi bookings. Location was perfect, right next to all popular sightseeing locations and restaurants without being too crowded.

Unbeatable service and comfort!

Best hotel in Hanoi! From the convenient location, the decor, cleanliness, comfort, value, and service, the Shining Central provided above and beyond the perfect stay. I was a solo traveler. Upon arrival you are personally greeted by all the staff and offer the most delicious welcome tea and dried fruits. The room was eclectically quaint like a studio, clean, decent view, and had everything I needed to exist comfortably. Food, markets, street performances, coffee shops, nail saloon, and massages all within 1-5 minutes walk in any direction. Very easy to get a Grab or taxi. The spa is connected to the building and reminds me of a favorite spa in Napa, CA, USA. Warm, peaceful and the 90 minute massage was so good I went back the next day for another! The best part about the hotel is the service. Actually, its Thien. She left me wanting for nothing. Everything, and I mean everything, I asked for Thien provided timely and easy options to achieve my requests. I wanted an Ao dai and she personally walked me two blocks to the best store. I wanted a private tour guide to take me to Ninh Binh and the Incense Village and she found me a driver and English speaking guide. I wanted to get my nails done and she walked me across the street to a great little shop. I wanted to buy the best coffee and tea and again, she paved the way. The asks and information was endless. Thien messaged me throughout each day to ensure all my wants and needs were met. It was like having a personal assistant. Even now that Im back home in the United States, Thien messaged me to make sure I made it home OK. She is a gem!! Thien provided opportunities and I gained life changing experiences at a reasonable price. I am forever grateful. Highly recommend this hotel!

I have a gluten allergy so anywhere in Vietnam was somewhat challenging to find gluten free food. The hotel buffet did have fresh fruit and vegetables and the staff were always eager to please. However, Thien gave the best recommendations for pho just two doors down and spring rolls just a 10 minute walk away.

Central location. Staff were very helpful, especially Emily. Good breakfast option.

Hallway not always kept clear. We would have a walk around the old quarter and came back with hallway where our rooms are were blocked by mountain of sheets. However I do understand the small space being in Hanoi

A good stay in Hanoi Old quarter

Very nice and helpful staff- arranged nice tour to Halong bay and transfers with them. Proper breakfast with a decent variety of european and asian foods. Hotel Spa was really good- we went 2 times in 3 days :)

5 star service and nicely located

From start to finish the staff went above and beyond with looking after us. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, and complimentary snacks for our room. The rooftop bar lets you get nice views of Hanoi at night. Breakfast on the 9th is also lovely in the morning. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable beds. Loved the decor and overall look and feel of the hotel. Nicely located by the lake but still get a peaceful night sleep.

There was sewage smells early morning, can smell peoples dump and washing machine going off in the morning. Breakfast options were limited. The spa manager next door is very pushy with getting a good review on tripavisor. Harassed us non stop even before our service for a review.

We booked the connecting rooms for 4 pax. The smell of sewerage every time we entered one of the rooms put us off. The hot water in the other room always ran out so we ended up using one bathroom for showers. We considered relocating to another hotel but it was the peak season and would not have been able to find another property easily.

Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Really good value for money.

Staff were so lovely and welcoming. Very helpful with any travel enquiries. The buffet breakfast was superb and we loved the roof top bar. The bed was very comfortable and location close to everything.

The room was somewhat smaller than expected and we couldnt open the blind on the window as it looked straight into the room next door. So we didnt like the lack of natural light.
