The reviews for the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto are mixed. While the location and food are exceptional, there are issues with the check-in process, room amenities, and some furniture quality. The roo (Read More)m service and housekeeping teams are commendable, but the restaurant staff can be abrasive. Overall, the hotel team is wonderful, but there are areas where the hotel falls short in terms of hospitality and room features. Despite these setbacks, many guests still recommend staying at the Shangri-La.

Room cleanliness and comfort were 5 star

Reception and restaurant staff service was subpar for a 5 star property. Disappointed with our dinner at Bosk (salades looked premade), wine bottles was brought cold to the table, but breakfast was good. I prefer the Ritz Carlton over your property.

Not worth it

The hotel scheduled maintenance that shut off all power from midnight until 6am which meant we had to pack, shower and dress by light of the emergency flashlight. There was no notification of this in advance other than a discreet note left on the desk of our room at turndown service, mere hours before said power outage. Service at the restaurant was incredibly slow and the food was poor. They offered fresh squeezed juice and poured tropicana into glasses. There was a lot of dust in the room. Everything was just ok and mediocre. Not worth what we paid.

I hope the charging dock has built-in adapters for type C. Currently theres only type A which is out of date :(.

The staff - from front desk to valet to room service were exceptional. The room was elegant and beautifully designed with great amenities and details. Totally worth it.

Spa weekend, see you again!

The staff were the most professional & warm/friendliest people- round-the-clock. Everything from our check-in, to turn-down, to when I lost my watch (they found it), late night Uber delivery, breakfast service... it was a great stay

I wish there was lighting & some type of awning for rain on the terrace in our room. That would have really stepped our room to another level! But that said, still an excellent room!
