Pleasant

Old world charm of the place. Hotel also has a in-house wood work gallery where one can purchase handicrafts and souvenirs.
Sheets provided where not cleaned. There are practical difficulties in using the tiny washroom and wash basin inside the room was leaking. Ventilator of the washroom opens to the room itself.

Bhaktapur fairytale!
Staying at Peacock Guesthouse was an experience on its own! It is a piece of a medieval fairytale brought into the modern world. Not only you feel the history everywhere, but also the artistry of Bhaktapur craftsmen: the wood-carved windows overlooking the oldest square of the town and the temple, the wooden artifacts in the cute courtyard, the craftsman himself working next to the restaurant. We marveled every minute of our stay there, we tasted a good amount of their great food and we spent literally hours observing this lively town from our windows If you are in Bhaktapur and you like living in history and art, look no further.
It is not something we didnt like: just keep in mind that if you are looking for a fancy hotel with modern amenities and accessibility, probably it s not for you. The wooden stairs leading to the rooms are steep and narrow, and you cannot avoid having through the old windows some dust and noise from the square. For us, I repeat, it was not a problem at all and we would come back with great joy

Beautiful guest house in the historical center of Bhaktapur
The property is fantastically located in the Dattatraya square, in the core of the historical area of Bhaktapur. This means that we could enjoy the beautiful historical center during the whole day and night, enjoy the festivals in the area, and having all the main places at short walking distances. The traditional Newari architecture of the place is simply wonderful. Staying few days in such a place is already quite beautiful in itself. The room was nicely spacious and with some useful additions (e.g., mosquito nets, electric mosquito repellent). The complimentary breakfast was good to start the day. Enjoying it in the inner courtyard of the property, while observing all the woodcarving around, was very nice. The staff of the Guest House was at all times helpful and friendly.
The bathroom requires some improvement. First, the pressure in the showerhead was not enough to have a comfortable shower. Second, it needs some finishing in the bathroom walls (e.g., tiles); of course, as long as it doesn't compromise the traditional style of the room/construction as a whole. Third, the cleaning of the bathroom could have been better, as we found some hairs on our arrival. The room could have additional furniture. For example, shelves, drawers, and/or wardrobe would facilitate the unpacking and organizing of the stuff. The preparation time for the breakfast was taking too long sometimes, especially if there were many guests.

I'm coming back!
I loved everything about this hotel - it is a bit of living history and the eye for detail and materials used are exquisite. You need to be able to climb stairs without grumbling, and if you're tall, be careful of your head, but hoefully if you come to Bhaktaphur you have an appreciation of beauty and staying here is like being allowed to stay in a comfortable, stylish, beautiful museum. Running it is a labour of love for for the lovely family who own it. The tea, coffee, food and drinks are all excellent.

Amazing location, incredible architectural interior features, great food and service.
The head height in the rooms is a tiny bit difficult if you are taller that 6ft 2.
