Ocean el Faro Resort - All Inclusive

The towel situation and the restaurant reservations policy. Spent more time waking up early trying to get reservations and somehow never go them. During the day there is nothing to eat except the worst excuse for a hamburger Ive even seen. I spent $140 one day on getting Burger King because my kids and wife were so hungry and couldnt handle any more of those tires they call burgers. You have to get up at 7am and wait an hour in line to make a reservation for dinner and when its finally your turn there are no reservations left. I finally got concierge to book me a reservation at the only restaurant we wanted to eat at all week and then when we arrived there was no reservation. Nobody working there has any clue on what to do when it comes to eating or working the app. I dont blame the employees, its their system and lack of communication and information. It was one of the worst resorts Ive ever been to and will never return.

With the exception of breakfasts, the food at this resort (even the Privilege options) was absolutely the worst food we've encountered anywhere in the world (first holiday we've been on that we didn't pick up weight so might be a good thing!). There is a great selection of fancy liquor for Privilege clients but unless you're willing to pay more for wines, you'll have to stick to their horrid house red and white. Also really difficult to get ice for the room (you need to use room service which takes a long time so plan ahead). Beware the 'not timeshare' breakfast sales pitch you'll get upon arrival. They are very pushy and don't appear to give you an option of attending. We eventually agreed to make him stop then cancelled in the morning to get out of it. The Beach Privilege staff were lovely and helpful, but we found the Privilege staff member at the pool particularly awful. She very rudely told us to get off the day bed unless we paid $20 an hour for its use. Pretty gross considering Privilege was supposed to get you use of the Bali daybeds. Either she was wrong (and rude) or there is some fine print on the Privilege option that we didn't see. There is no soap etc. For the bath, which is a problem because the soap bottles are locked up on the basin and shower walls. Minor but a little annoying. It would also be helpful if the hotel arranged transfers. They do not, despite what it might say on their website. We arranged one privately that worked out, but it feels weird that a resort of this size doesn't have an arrangement with a trusted service.

The shower in both bathrooms leaked. We reported the issue but it wasnt until the following day that we were able to move to another room. We called and went to the customer service desk but no one seemed to know what they were doing. The following day, I complained to the manager and he said hed look into it but he never followed up with me. The hotel is run down and needs some serious repairs and maintenance. The sales people follow you around trying to get you to sign up for their time share program. We had privileged access but had to wait over an hour for dinner. I will never forget this horrible experience. We never heard back from management regarding the issue with the room.

First and foremost, our water was not replaced for a day and a half. We asked multiple people for more water in our room multiple times and we didnt get it until about 10pm on the last night of our stay. We were traveling with our toddler and that was a massive inconvenience, the biggest reason for our poor rating. Secondarily, the in room service was not very prompt. When we ordered food it took a really long time to come and was often cold. When we arrived there was a light bulb that was out, they said they would send someone to replace it but it was never replaced. small mirror in the bathroom was broken.

My overall disappointment was an issue I had with the Daisy Club DayCare. The ladies from the club approached me and my son about having my son join the soccer club and I said no because we was with family and didn't want him to participate at the moment. So told my son to just stay by the kids pool and I will be on the side to watch him. They have big slides on the kids pool so is hard to see the other side of the pool. When I didnt see my son just 3 -5 mins from sitting on the lounge chair , I got up to look for him. Mind you he been playing at this slides for the past 2 days we was there and no problem. So I went to look for him and didnt see him or anyone in the kids pool I went CRAZY! Started calling for him and nothing! Im running like crazy the lifeguards saw me and like 5 of them started searching for him with me. I went up the slides thinking maybe he hurt himself and is inside the slides Hurt my foot running around the freaking slides had a big cut! Then I went into the Daisy club to ask if they seen him and the girl in the front desk said OH wait and pulls out her phone and shows me a photo of my child at the beach playing soccer!!!!! I just lost it !!! ONE. WHY IS MY CHILD ON HER PHONE! TWO. WHY IS HE AT THE BEACH PLAYING SOCCER WHEN I TOLD THEM NO, HE WAS NOT PLAYING!!! My son cant swim so the Idea of him alone at the beach blew my mind. These girls for the sake of having their club full took my son without my consent! Took pictures of my son without my consent! I reported the incident with management and the girls lied and said that my son made the decision to go with them. My son is 6 years old!!! I specifically told these girls NO in there face and still recruited my son when I wasn't looking and took him to the beach to play soccer that to me is kidnapping! And all that management had to say is sorry and that it was the kids fault , but If we wanted to sue we could because they are a big hotel and they got money!!!!
