Good for a short stay. Hard to reach manager.

It was a quiet and safe location. Parking was easy. Check in was easy. It's dog-friendly.

We were only contacted by the manager before check-in. They were radio silent afterwards. The dog fee was listed as $25 per night per dog during our booking. When we checked in, we were told it's $50 per night per dog. We emailed them to clarify and to ask about the parking situation, but we didn't get a response. It was the holidays, so I understand. But we had another issue with the heater. This was after the holiday. The thermostat is in another unit, so we had no control over our own heat. Someone left the heater on in a different unit, and consequently turned our unit into a sauna. We called 3 of the numbers they gave us, and only 1 person picked up. It was almost 10PM and we were told there's nothing to be done because it was so late. We were told to crack a window. It was really uncomfortable. By the time we checked out, the house manager never called us back about the dog fee, never replied to our original email message, and never reached back out.

It's a gorgeous place, with a very nice layout.

Some of the lamps didn't work. The hot tub didn't work. The whole garden could do with a tidy up.

It was suppose to be a relaxing destination to celebrate an anniversary. Unfortunately it did not start out completely relaxing as it seemed our room was double booked. Mara did make a huge effort and placed in another room for one night and was placed in our booked room the following day. The room we booked was very comfortable and we enjoyed the balcony upstairs to enjoy the Californian sun and watch the planes fly over. The beach was only a 15 minute walk away and 6 minutes walk to shopping strip where you could get pizza, Italian, subway, donuts, sandwiches and small range of groceries at liquor store. 20-30 minutes can get you to Venice beach or Santa Monica pier via Uber. Overall apart from the initial hiccup it was a nice stay :)

Cute, clean, but no hot water and plumbing issues

Upon arrival we felt safe as the property is located in a very pretty and quaint residential neighborhood. The bed was comfortable and there were little special touches such as coffee cakes, coffee, a full sized refrigerator and extra linens. The room was nice and the private entrance was convenient.

The room was stuffy, we didnt know there was an air purifier or we would have used it. The biggest issue we had was no hot water. And the bathroom sink was clogged. This was a big let down bc we wanted to shower and couldnt. We had to brush our teeth with water bottle waters bc the sink was full of water within 10 seconds of running it. When I told the owner about it she seemed to be surprised but this place had been booked all week. So I found it a bit hard to believe that no one else brought it to her attention all week. Showering, washing your hands, and brushing your teeth are an everyday thing. She didnt offer a discount to soften the blow of not being able to do these normal hygiene things. We checked out and probably wouldnt stay there again bc there are a lot of cute little places like this in the same area where you CAN take a nice warm shower and use the sinks.

Disappointing

Eery feeing we were being watched.

The king size bed was nice. We really enjoyed having a couch to sit on a watch movies together. We didnt really notice a hot tub, pool, or spa that was mentioned but we didnt really walk around the property very much.

I feel like there was no mention of this being more of a Air BnB then a hotel. Also the major problem with the room we got was that there were these white panel windows inside that just looked like decorative glass but then came nighttime and I had thought I saw a tv reflecting light behind the window. I opened it to find that those windows were connected to another room to what looked like an office, and the glowing screen was a computer. I showed my husband and we both felt exposed and creeped out. There was a whole office next to our room and the only thing covering them from seeing inside our room was a painting and the white vinyl windows which were already proven to be see through at night with the lights on. We couldnt afford a different hotel for the weekend so we just stayed and told ourselves it probably wasnt what we were thinking but it was definitely giving Bad Times at the El Royale (iykyk) but still I couldnt get comfortable with my husband all weekend on our vacay away from home and that was even after i hung a bunch of my clothes over the windows. It just felt so weird and wrong.

Very good

Would stay here again but...more transparency needed.

Location was in a great neighborhood. Room was very comfortable and felt safe. SHOWER WAS AMAZING! Room had everything you need.

Jacuzzi was broken, and that was not advertised. Room is definitely not soundproof as advertised. Room is very bright in the morning so if you want dark, suite D is not for you.
