one night lay over in emergency

near the airport , bed was comfortable

no socket in the room , only in the bathroom (2) bath towels very old and small. A warning in the bathroom indicating that there was a fine of 30,000COP for each stain on the linen !!! very small room . This is a one night lay over in emergency.

The staff was super helpful and the young man at reception spoke the best English Ive heard so far Im Cartagena. The room was spotlessly clean. Great area if you have a flight early in the morning, you can literally walk to the airport in less than 5mn. The area is real safe too, can walk late at night (female alone) with plenty of options to eat at walking distance. They offer massage service at a fairly cheap price which I tried.

Ok hotel, but definitely not a Spa:). Renaming needed- misled us to book very basic backpackers place

Old- everything is outdated. Floors washed with lots of chemicals which is unhealthy and just covers odour. Would not come back but perhaps for backpackers it would not be that bad.

Next to the airport, amazing bed!

Amazing bed, sheets, and pillows (one of the bests we've had in Colombia), Good towels, Very nice and friendly staff, We chose it for its proximity to the airport.

Unkempt, worn-out room and building, it seems like it's a shadow of a once alluring establishment. Room wasn't really clean, lots of debris behind the couch and bed.

I wouldn't like to stay there again.

It was close to the airport.

I didn't like the facilities. There were kids crying until midnight and the breakfast was too simple.

Best value for your money in Cartagena

Excellent hotel, especially good value for your money in Cartagena. Since Cartagena is a tourist hotspot, some of the hotel prices in the more tourist zone were too exaggerated. Hotel Mucura has all the essentials that you need. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for us since we spent most of the day outside the hotel and only returned to the hotel to sleep. It is a very quiet hotel at night. Very close to the airport. You can walk to and from the airport. It's only 4 blocks away. We walked with our carry on luggage and backpacks at midnight and the neighborhood seemed safe enough. Transportation (Uber) from the tourist zone of Bocagrande to the hotel is about US$3 to $4 max. If you want to rent a car in Cartagena, the rental company Localiza is just in front of the airport. One day with an economy (basic) car (Suzuki S-presso) with full insurance came out to US$38 aprox. Driving in Cartagena can be very chaotic with lots of motorcycles everywhere. Definitely need to have "nerves of steel" to drive there :-) . The hotel has a small garage of its own.

It's not really a complaint, but the hotel does not have a swimming pool. It does have a jacuzzi though. It can be sometimes hard to get an Uber from the hotel since it is not in the main tourist zone. Don't worry though, we walked 3 blocks and got a yellow taxi on the main road. Breakfast can be a little repetitive if you stayed like we did for 5 days.
