Fantastic resort with amazing staff but would 100% AVOID for XMAS and NYE

The all inclusive sunrise beach villa was very nicely designed and had every amenity we could think of. The bathroom was incredible and with the weather being tropical storms for our the majority of our stay, this was a relaxing option to have. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were excellent and very attentive with the food being excellent - the A La Carte option for all inclusive made this the case.

Communication of 'mandatory New Year's Eve cost' of $350 per person should have been made more explicit prior to booking. Despite unwillingly paying for the added cost (on top of our All Inclusive price per night rate), we decided to just go with the flow, let our hair down and enjoy the evenings 'entertainment', having been told there was a company from the UK (Area 51) being flown in to provide the acts for the evening. The evening started with a New Year's Eve buffet which was held in the main restaurant and served by the many amazing staff who served us before and included an array of food options from live stations. However, what we wasn't told about is that it was first come, first served unless you had paid to reserve a table, so sadly we had wait a while to be seated and enjoyed the fantastic food which made up for the lack on communication. Sadly, our positive vibes continued to dwindle from the moment we left the restaurant as we walked up to the Bluu bar which hosted the evenings 'entertainment'. Considering we could have spent our $700 to experience a professional act perform in Las Vegas or Dubai for the same price, we were expecting more than 2 untrained comperes on the microphone struggling to create an atmosphere from the crowd who were either asleep or playing cards due to the array of 'talent' on show. In between acts, in order to prolong the evening closer to midnight, the 2 compere's provided a room number raffle which was only supposed to have 5 prizes ($10 bottles of awful tasting 'Brut') but ended up giving them out to every room by the end - a tactic to make people feel they got value for money. We then watched fireworks from the neighbouring islands before, at 12:10am, we went to the bar for a drink, only to be told that we were not allowed a drink after midnight.

Overall experience was good, because we were accommodated in villa with pool, jacuzzi and private beach. The staff is doing amazing job and this is the biggest asset of this place. I can recommend All inclusive Gold option. With normal AI you still will be charged for everything extra.

Disappointing

As we had a good rate we probably got what we paid for but not as per advertised as 5 star

Food was good, bar nice location Entertainment was mixed - excellent Maldivian drums and violinist, Cocktails at bar 75 were really nice . Natural feel of the vegetation.

Def not 5 star. Been to multiple 5 stars which were so much more polished. Lack of attention to detail. Garden rooms poorly located and very dirty and multiple leaks . Despite saying we didnt really drink got sent bottle of wine and fruit to compensate - Id said please not to do that as we were all inclusive and had as much as we wanted free anyway . As is common all inclusive model is mad - hot latte included but not iced latte . Weve been to Maldives 9 times and this was the least enjoyable and doesnt represent the true Maldivian experience Staff ok but lacked normal attentiveness and service that we normally have had . Went to Maldives to dive and the proper / larger dive boat was out of action and due to wind the speedboat alternative wasn't suitable. Distinct lack of sun beds - never had to pull towels out in Maldives before ! Limited parasols only 6 on the beach shared by all of the garden and deluxe rooms . Parrots chained up all day on perches. Trf back to the airport was poor, staff not friendly , didnt ask about our stay or wish a safe journey etc , left during heavy rain and umbrellas taken at reception so we had to wait in the rain on the jetty and left island 2 hours and 10mins before international flight, not nearly enough time to get through the carnage of checkin (1hour) security and passports and had to run through fast track - very stressful. No bad weather plan even though solid days of heavy rain ! - Previously had impromptu films / cocktail making etc included for all inclusive guests during bad weather. Wifi didnt work at the bar or beach, most 5 star resorts have much better coverage . At published rates there are much better options.

Small and tranquil resort, perfect for vacation with kids

We got Villa with high deck, so basically with no access to the ocean from the villa, other villas had direct access to the beach. It was bot super comfortable with kids, so it would be great if manager could take into consideration this when family stays with children

the resort takes care for 100% of guests , any kind of request can be done there . massage , restaurants , bars , life music , water activities or just chill on the beach . loved it !
