- the main issue was cleanliness - everywhere was very dirty, even immediately after the cleaners came, the floor was still filthy and worst of all, the bathroom was disgusting - toilets were gross, shower drain was blocked with hair and soap wrappers and this was never cleaned - there was one toilet for the whole room, and the toilet flush didn't work for the first 24 hours of our stay. We reported it to the staff immediately but it took 24 hours to fix, even though we were told it was a matter of turning on a switch that was turned off by mistake - two communal toilets were unusable - there were bags of trash stored inside them, and a pigeon had made a nest in one of them - the communal area was much more restricted than the pictures show, as the terrace on the top floor is actually a restaurant, and the cushioned steps are where the staff sleep 24/7. The communal area on the terrace is generally dirty with limited sitting space - the door to the dorm doesn't lock (it doesn't even fully shut) and many of the lockers were broken (e.g. with the door missing). You need your own padlock to lock them anyway - patchy wifi - poor check in experience. We arrived at 9.30 and went to the hostel to drop off our bags. There was no staff on reception. Some other guests had arrived at 7am and had been waiting for hours. After about 40 mins someone came. They agreed to look after our bags and told us to come back at 12 as our beds would be ready then. When we came back, we had to wait until 1.40pm for the beds to be ready - location was OK but not great - you have to walk down a dark unlit street at first, and it's about 20 mins to the Pushkar lake and a further half an hour or more to the camel fair Overall, it didn't feel like a friendly hostel, and most importantly the lack of cleanliness was terrible and made our stay unpleasant. It's a shame because the place has great potential (as you can see from pictures) but isn't maintained properly
